A trap game for PHO is their next game when they play your Philly. Since PHO is a good team and PHI mediocre it is very possible that PHO will underestimate them and lose.

Are you talking about the same "mediocre" Philly team that beat Denver, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix (in Phoenix), and BOSTON? That Philly team?

He's talking about the same mediocre team that is a few games above .500 and will likely lose in the 1st round of the playoffs (or win a series at most). Philly has played very well recently, but they really aren't much more than a mediocre team.

If they can land Elton Brand (relatively realistic, from how I understand their cap situation) in the off-season, then they'll become a legit threat and IMO, the 3rd best team in the East. A very promising future, but they aren't a very good team--not yet.

Unless it's "Blount is a more (Please Use More Appropriate Word), less talented, awful version of KG", right?

Ahhh Mark Blount, immortal comedy gold on this board...gone but never forgotten and always the best butt of jokes!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Well said. As hot as they've been, they are mediocre. Basically outside of Boston, Detroit, and Orlando the teams in the East are pretty bad overall.

KG for me, Pierce a close second, but man, do I like all of our starting 5. Wait, make that the whole team. My favorite part of the game was Big Baby shoving Shaq around in the post every now and again, although you can't give him the MVP just for that.

And yet for all the talk about how great the West is, the Sixers have beaten Denver, Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix. The ONLY team in the West that really scares me are the Lakers. When healthy, the combo of Odom, Gasol, Bynum, and Kobe, coached by Phil Jackson is downright dangerous.

As for the Sixers being mediocre, I have to disagree. I think chemistry is underrated and I think that we have a lot of young talent that plays with an amazing amount of poise considering their age. I do agree with you guys however that we are in dire need of a legitimate PF. While I like Brand, I'm concerned about his injury. Perhaps Okafor would be a better fit but he also comes with some health issues. The way our scout Tony DiLeo evaluates players, I wouldn't be surprised if we got our PF of the future via this year's draft. DiLeo has an excellent track record when it comes to drafting talent.

As for the Celtics, I have mixed feelings about your team. On paper, you guys look great - and your record would seem to indicate that you guys are for real. But I just keep getting flashbacks of the Lakers Dream Team with Malone, Payton, Kobe, and Shaq. Maybe I'll be wrong about you guys and you'll go all the way. Time will tell I guess. I think my other issue with the Celts is your PG. While I like Rondo, I'm not sure he's battle tested. In my opinion, he's a lot like our own Lou Williams but perhaps not as explosive. If you guys had say, Andre Miller running the show, I think you guys would be unstoppable.

STChaser, that Lakers team got all the way to the finals, before the Shaq and Kobe war of personalities lost them the series. I don't think we'll have any problems, since all of our star players have put their egos aside and are playing towards a team concept. The problems you mentioned with Rondo is why we got Sam Cassell. Hopefully Sam will get better with some actually practices with the team. He should also get a lot of playing time once we secure home court.

I don't think Mark Blount ever had a game where he had 0 TOs and took 19 shots.

I voted for Paul, because he had the best overall performance, but all of the guys listed contributed to the win in a great team effort.

RealGM: Where victory cigar threads about Celtic players turning into discussions about the above-average (is that better?) 76ers happens.

I voted Perk. He really pounded the offensive glass and out-performed Shaq. He easily could have had a 17 and 10 night if he hadn't missed a couple bunnies, but still gets an "A" for effort.
