Most Bucks fans are very aware of the importance of Yi's participation in the Olympics this summer.. However, I think the concern becomes is this the best thing for Yi the player even though it may be the best for Chinese team and his fellow countrymen/women? I don't think that answer is yes. We already see how Yi's continuously play has hurt and adversely affected him as the season has continued to grind on.. this kid needs to rest, to work on his game so he can improve, and time to adjust even more to the strains of the NBA. He isn't going to get that by playing non-stop like this..
So it may sound insensitive or perhaps selfish of some fans to wish for him to have some sort of "injury" that forces him to sit out for an extended period of time (forcing him to rehab and work on his game) but could ultimately end up being the best thing for his career in the long run. I'm sorry if that's offensive, I just see a need for Yi to get some time off and he can't do that playing year round without more than a month's worth of rest.
