Kemp. He was a much better defender and a much, much more dangerous weapon offensively, even if his scoring averages didn't seem to indicate that (consider, he played next to Payton in his prime and with Schrempf for a while, too).

Nasty doesn't even begin to describe Kemp.

Kemp was also a superior boozer, womanizer, had exceptional nasal intake, and unlike Bosh, could actually put on and keep on weight.

On the court, Kemp >>> Bosh.

As for off-the-court exploits, Kemp >>>>>>> Bosh.

The Reignman was a true nightmare for opposing PF's. He used to really give Karl Malone some great match ups in their primes.

Ask yourself this, how would Bosh handle Karl Malone and you will realize what it means that the Reignman gave Karl trouble.

I think this is without question Shawn Kemp. The first time I saw Kemp play was when he was a Cavalier, but then I saw him play as a Sonic, I was like :o

No one misses Kemp more than Seattle.

In a round about way the whole Seattle vs OKC fiasco that is going on can all be brought back to a place in time where Wally "F'n" Walker was dumb enough to trade Kemp. That was the first step that put Seattle on the ledge.

He was quicker and more .... (I hesitate) athletic than Howard.

Now I know that sounds crazy, but pre Cleveland, Seattle Reignman was just plain nasty. Howards movements while not wooden, lack the fluidity that prime Kemp had.

Having said that, Howard is a better rebounder and a stronger player at the same comparable time in their careers.

Prime Kemp is NASTY. He was a more athletic and stronger version of Amare (not to mention better defender and more polished). That baseline spin capped off with a thunderous two-hander was SICK. I'm sure a lot of the PFs of that time still see that move in their drea....nightmares.

The better player at his absolute peak? Kemp.

Who would I rather have to start a team? Bosh.

For the record I don't think Kemp is as good as Amare on offense although he was definitely tougher on D and better on the glass.

I don't know, Kemp had about 3 seasons where he was absolutely unstoppable (94-96) but in retrospect he was a time-bomb from day 1 and had a pretty short period of being a truly elite player.

I don't think he showed the same increase in bball IQ as Amare or Bosh have either. If he had been able to cut down of his PFs and TOs and play for a few more minutes a night, he could have been insane.

Anyway, Bosh will never be able to score at the same efficiency Kemp had those few years because he doesn't have the build for it. On the other hand you probably don't have to worry about Bosh getting fat and/or addicted to the powder so that's probably a mark in Chris' column. If I recall correctly, Kemp was a bit of a D-Bag even when he was happy and in Seattle whereas Bosh seems to have everything you'd want out of a franchise cornerstone (except maybe another 30 lbs of muscle so he could play in the post).
