Wolves picking 2nd, Rose gone...
The no-brainer pick here is obviously Beasley. The problem for the Wolves here is that while you may be able to get away with playing Beasley at the 3 for one year -- he is an NBA power forward. Long-term, I think that's where he has to play. Unfortunately, this moves Al out of position to the 5 and creates a somewhat undersized frontcourt that while tremendously gifted in terms of offensive talent, would also be somewhat defensively-challenged.
So suppose this scenario takes place, do you consider trading Al for value at another position? What if a team like New York offers the #3 or #4 pick, a soon-to-be expiring contract, plus talent/future picks?
As much as I love Al, I think Beasley duplicates Al's skills and then some. Me, I'd seriously consider it...what say you?

At this point AL > Beasley. It would be far to risky and foolish to trade Al and keep Beasley. History might dictate otherwise, but I can't imagine any team doing this.

It depends what you can get.
The only guys I would want are the same guys we couldn't get.
I would think that dangling Al, we would get one or two more potential guys, scrubs and expirings/cash.
I would much rather keep Al and Beasley, than try to build around Beasley.

I think some of us get way too caught up in position titles. Imo, a team does not have to be made up with a protypical C, PF, SF, SG, PG.
Likewise, I'm the opinion that Beasley is a superior athlete and as such will be able to adapt to defending players of his similar skill set, whatever position that might be.
That said, I roll with both and add a center to the mix. This way we can reap the rewards of the versitility of both Big Al and Beasley. Check it...
Jefferson can play C and PF.
I (and lots of others) think Beasley can play SF and PF
Add in Brewer who can play SF and SG, and you can give teams ALOT of different looks.
If we land Beasley theres not way I deal either of them unless someone is offerring me something I cant refuse.

I "think" Beasley and Al could play together, but I don't think it's optimal. Whether they play the 3/4 or 4/5 I think's it's a defensive liability. However, unless I get blown away by an offer I give it a try.
What if the Bulls desperate for a low post scorer offered something like....
Deng (he's a RFA so trade would have to be after draft sign/trade)
Noah or Tyrus Thomas
Their Lotto Pick (Randolph, Gallinari, Thabeet, Augustine, etc.)
for
Rights to Beasley
Filler
I'm not sure if the Bulls do this, but they are a team that almost has to shake it up this offseason.

respectfully disagree. Sell high on Beasley now. If we could net Rudy and Brook for Beasley and our 2 2nd rounders...you gotta think about it.
Lopez - Richard
Jefferson - Gomes
Gay - Gomes
Brewer - McCants
Foye - Telfair
This is a ridiculous post Prefuse. No offense, but Memphis is not trading Gay and Lopez for Beasley, let alone Gay for Beasley. You are vastly underrating Gay. By the end of next year he could be a top 10 NBA talent.

This is also ridiculous. This is arguably more than we got for KG and more than what the Bulls were offering for Kobe.
