Shocking Draft Measurements
I was looking at the draft measurements of the previous years and I was shocked at what I saw.
Luke Jackson and Chris Humphries can jump higher than Dwight Howard, JR Smith, and Andre Igoudala. David Lee and Marvin Williams ran the 3/4 court sprint faster than Monta Ellis and Chris Paul. Luke Jackson also bench pressed more than Dwight Howard.
I don't know how accurate this site is. Here's the link.

Yeah, Humphries had a crazy pre-draft measurement series. That kid was supposed to be a stud coming out of college.
Unfortunately he was a dud.
These are fun to go back and look at. For example, Chris Paul and Deron Williams had the highest verticles for the top 15 players chosen in their draft, Paul with 38 and Deron with 35.

I think my favorite is Smush Parker having a standing reach of just under 9', it was about the same as Al Horfords IIRC.
Athletic, with super length, strong body..... and he's garbage.

The thing is that NFL players train for the combine after the college season, desperately trying to shave hundredths of a second off their 40.
NBA players go to work on their skills because people dont care about it as much.
Although i still think anyone weighing 185 should be able to press 185 after 3 months training

Not if you are 6'10, with a tiny chest, yet still boasting a 7'5 wingspan.

Unfortunately, wingspan does not equate to IQ...Humphries is about two standard deviations away from being an exceptional player.

**** your asterisk.

Without the ball, straight down the court sprint, why not? Let's add dribbling and changing directions to that, and it's a whole different story
