Soul wrote: REALGM BEST TEAM EVER BRACKETS I'm going to be doing a sim (using whatifsports.com) finding out what the best team EVER was. Now, I'm going to need help because I don't know about every team.. so if you can post the year/record/how far they got like I did for the Magic I'll edit it in (if you have several great teams like Lakers/Bulls/Celtics just pick your favorite and I'll take the first one. 2 teams needed byes so I just picked the two dynasties, couldn't do it any other way. Also, most of the matchups are just done from listing the teams from division, since seeding would be objective and take forever.

Please take into account these squads:
1966/67 Sixers: 68-13 (then NBA record): they ended series of 8 Boston championships in a row. In 1980 voted as the best team ever.
1970/71 Bucks: 66-16, 20 wins in a row (then NBA record), 12-2 in the playoffs.
1971/72 Lakers: 69-13 (then NBA record), 33 wins in a row (still record of all American professional leagues). 31-7: best road winning percentage in history.
1982/83 Sixers: 65-17, 12-1 in playoffs: the best percentage in playoffs until 2001 Lakers.
1985/86 Celtics: 67-15, 40-1 at home: best home winning percentage in history.
1986/87 Lakers: 65-17, beat those Celts 4-2 in the Finals.
2000/2001 Lakers: 56-26, 15-1 in playoffs (still standing NBA record).
Of course there were also Bulls, but: first, they were overrated; second, they're going to be advertised in this thread anyway by dudes who don't know much about basketball except Chicago, so please forgive me if I don't join the choir.
