Agreed.

And still a quality role-player.

A lot of players are/were old, but still effective to different extents.

Dikembe Mutombo is old. But his aging hasn't really mattered because of how good he was earlier in his career, and hasn't had any significant injuries.

Number34 wrote:Ok, pretend it wasn't bowen for a second. Now look at the play, and 99/100 times no one wouldn't even look twice at it as a dirty play.

and if you have a look at the bowen/paul replay you will see it was in fact chris paul playing dirty.

That's a tremendous post. It's truthful in relation to obvious material.

SeattleSun wrote:if thats not enough evidence nothing will be. bowen needs to be completelely clocked right square in the face and knocked out cold. he is an awful excuse for an nba player, a blight on this league.

You do realize with that kind of contact there is possibility for a concussion?

What a disgusting thought of request. Even if you overreacted from looking at/reading the list of those clips, and your feelings on Bowen's play - that's just awful you had that thought in your mind, and then actually communicated it.

Suggestion: control the mentality.

SeattleSun wrote:i've cleaned higher quality life off the underside of my toilet lid than bruce bowen.

How do you know Bruce is a bad person? You don't. I understand why you think he's a dirty player, but from what i've gathered over the years Bruce is a class guy.

What an ignorant, ridiculous statement. This is about basketball here, not the guy's life outside of it. If you mean basketball, then indicate something to it.

Yup.

Boston plays great, tough defense. But while they have had to gel for the future being together for the first season, I don't think they had to go all out like they have almost every game in the regular season.

I don't think they're the favorite to win the title, though. A favorite? Absolutely. I love to watch Boston.

goo kennedy wrote:I just don't get how people still blame Horry or the Spurs or David Stern for what happened last year in the playoffs. Everybody and their mother knows the rule about getting off the bench during a fight. Every (decent) coach knows that the first thing you do when a fight starts is that you make sure that nobody leaves the bench. How Stoudemire and Diaw, and the Phoenix coaching staff remain blameless in all of this is beyond belief. They are the victims? Give me a break. They are idiots. When you're that mentally weak, you don't deserve to win a championship.

I feel similar. Especially when none of the Spurs players went away from the bench during that schmozz, and Raja Bell escalated things after Nash went down. Nothing was going on for some seconds with Horry walking away after he committed the hard foul - and Bell gets up into Horry. Especially with Horry walking away from Nash after there, that's even more of a reason not to do anything. Understandably, you want to see/know if Nash is alright, but they should of had better realization of things.

The Suns just lacked mental focus there, and I've noticed over time this gets overlooked quite a bit. If Phoenix handled themselves better, the NBA doesn't enter into it as a factor, because they kept their cool.

again put up or shut up, show me 60-70 different (this season alone) games relating to Bowen's dirty play.

Why should I show you that? A dirty player is a player whokicks a player every game?
Here is (again) a list of his work

He's dirty as scum, there's no denying to that, really.

The defense = dirty argument is moronic at so many levels, the best defensive team the league has seen the last 7-8 years was the Detroit Pistons, they lived by the defense and their offense was more boring than the Spurs, yet no one calls them dirty, the Spurs are called dirty, because they are, it is just a coincidence that each time they find themselves with their backs against the wall in the PO, altercation happens and suspensions follow in 2 consecutive years.

I like this one. He even looks down at the ground to make sure he trips Amare.

this is the part the spurs and their fans just cant grasp. there have been great defensive teams for years that werent dirty. they played D well, they didnt try and injure their opponent or incite a riot to gain advantages. there is a reason the spurs are considered dirty, go back and read the thread, its hardly only suns fans commenting on the dirty tactics

Who on the Spurs is consistently "dirty" aside from Bowen?

You also didn't hate them, and they didn't knock your team of the the playoffs, and own your team in the regular season for the last several years. Haters have to justify their hate. It's real hard to hate a team if the work really hard, have great fundamentals, and are really smart and well trained when it comes to the defensive end of the floor. It makes it a lot easier to justify hate if they're dirty. Then they deserve to be hated. It's just a rationalization, has nothing to do with the Spurs, and all to do with the hater him or herself.

Horry is dirty as hell
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Seattlesun - still waiting for a response to this...or will it be conveniently ignored like the two other questions?
