Horford easily.. and he'll be better in the future, though I think Scola could be a good piece for a championship team.

It's funny how Scola has more votes, but not one poster willing to back him up.

Horford easily.

I was just making sure I wasn't crazy. He asked me to make the poll. Judging from the poll richboy has 4 accounts.

If someone believes Scola is better that's fine, I would just like to see why they believe that.

Horford is the better player, and he's also a true rookie. This is no contest.

Scola is 27 years old. This is his prime and he's still not better than Horford.

Horford by a pretty reasonable margin especially considering age.

The case for Scola is that he outdoes Horford in pretty much every major advanced multi stat.PER,OWS,DWS,ORtg,DRtg,WS,LS,WSAA.

If you believe in these stats then Scola is the better player quite easily.

I haven't seen either enough to form a personal view ,but was actually surprised that both of their stats weren't better from the way they are talked about.

Hard to compare based on those types of stats when they play different minutes. Scola is at 24.4 and Horford is at 31.4, those 7 minutes mean that Scola can play his game (based on toughness and energy) and not worry about foul trouble (he is fairly foul prone, as is Horford) which allows him to get to the line at a higher rate and means that he is going to be in the lineup when the team needs his offense so he is going to be featured more.

How is Horford clearly better now? He has a lower PER than Scola. Scola has a better post game. He has a better jump shot. Horford the better rebounder. Really Scola looks under utilized. I almost say that on most teams he get used more and get a shot to put up numbers compariable to Gasol. Scola is probably the prime reason that Houston is in the position there in. Scola was one of the best international players in the world for a reason.
