So you're aware of the fact that several of the players listed as PF are actually taller than their listed height, while several of the players listed as C are actually shorter than their listed height. The same applies to weight (exaggerated in either direction to create the illusion of a prototypical size for either "position").I recall Garnett being listed as 6'11" specifically to avoid the pressure of being put into a full-time C role.

If you look at my excel sheet, you see that the size of the players are all over the map. Some of the PF's (Gasol/Duncan/Dirk) are 7' tall, and some of the C's (Thomas/Dampier/Camby) are shorter than that. Some of the PF's (Duncan/Randolph) are heavier than some of the C's (Thomas/Camby/Przybilla).
The only thing that is extremely consistent in dividing the two groups is that the PF list can shoot jump shots, and the C list cannot (Kurt Thomas being the only exception I think?). Remember I didn't make this list, so I didn't cherry pick the players to make it look like they the only difference is the ability to shoot a jumper.
