Is Paul Silas the next Suns coach?
There was a report on Sporting News radio that if D'Antoni is going to leave the Suns that Paul Silas is the front runner to get the job.
Also, it was reported by the same reporter that it's Mike D'Antoni who wants to leave and becoming the Bulls coach. I beleive that it was Sam Smith who reported but I didn't catch the biggening of the interview.
Let me emphasizes that I heard this on Sporting News radio.
**EDIT** He also mention Vinny Del Negro as one of the front runners.
We are going to know ny tommorrow wether D'Antoni is leaving or going. Robert Sarver, Steve Kerr and Mike D'Antoni are going to meet on Friday and we will know by Saturday the latest.

He sounded pretty positive that MD ain't gonna be back in Phoenix....
I will be surprise if he does. I have mixed feeling about this becouse I do want that fast break team back. But in reality, we need to become a better half court/defensive team with the personal that we currantly have.

The guys over on the Bulls board are ridiculous in their assessments of D'Antoni ............ saying things like they have no proof that he's an inflexible coach or that they'll just gobble up a defensive minded assistant coach to coach the D ......... I mean c'mon, if it was that easy it would've already been done here in Phoenix. That's what Kerr is trying to get thru Mike's head.

How does that work exactly......... if D'Antoni resigns, can he just off and go to another team? Or do we still have his rights?
We still own rights to him till his contract expires... teams would need SUNS permission to contact him. If we fire him then he can sign with anyone he wants.

Also does anybody know anything about Silas's coaching style? What about Vinny's?
..........so then we'd have what, 3 draft choices in this next draft? .....or was one of them given when we traded Kurt Thomas? I doubt Sarver wants to put out money for more than one draft pick.......and a later rounder at that.

We traded our draft pick to Seattle.
For Stan Van Gundy the Heat received a 2007 second round pick and the right to swap picks with Orlando this year (which won't be exercised since the Heat have a low draft pick). Also since they did not exercise the pick swap, the Heat get a 2008 second round pick. We should get the same thing.
