Marvin..
Hats off to him for his great performance in game 6, and heart to come back into the game after hurting himself to provide some good defense. I know people always bash him due to the Paul situation, but Marvin didn't draft himself, Knight did. Marvin has become a good player, while Paul is great..but this guy has all of the upside in the world and has continued to improve while with the Hawks, and when Joe was getting doubled tonight he kept finding Marvin for jumpshots which was a key reason to us winning. Does anyone know his situation injury wise for game 7? We need him.

I totally agree with you. My thing with Marvin isn't even about his talent or anything. What bothers me the most is the lack of intension, passion, and desire. The other guys were playing their hearts out in the previous games and he was nowhere to help the team. I hope this game gave him some confidence. Now it's game 7, even if I had a broken foot or a sprained ankle I'd play that game. I just hope Marvin shows that kind of toughness.
GO HAWKS.

Marv is one of my fav players here on the Hawks, and while he is here, will always be, but I think he should just come off the bench, because match-up wise, even though he did make Paul Pierce go into foul trouble, Chill is playing with great hustle right now. Give Marvin Chill's mins and Chill, Marvin's mins. Just for this game. Try something different on the road.

I think the biggest thing Marvin needs to improve on is his consistency. He has far too many games where he has disappeared on us. His footwork also needs a lot of work. He looks so clumsy out there, when he drives to the basket he usually loses his footing.
But let's not give up on him just yet. He has a sweet looking jumper and I like that he likes takes the ball to the rack. He has developed a nice little go-to hook shot too. He also is a pretty good defender.
I don't think he'll ever make us forget about not drafting Paul, but I would be ok with keeping him if he can keep his head in the game and be more consistent.

I think Marvin can become a pretty good player(not a star but pretty good). As said above....his footwork is AWFUL. He loses his balance nearly any time he attempts to drive to the whole in traffic. I think another thing he has to work on is just shooting 3s. He takes alot of set shots on the baseline a couple steps in and a lot of shots at the top of the key where he is only a couple steps in front of the 3 point line. He needs to work on shooting threes this summer and making sure he sets up outside the 3 point line.

Turn on him? They turned against him in his 1st year as a starter.
I personally can't wait until Acie Law becomes our starting PG and the core of this team develops.
With this core, we don't need a top 3-5 player in the NBA to contend.
But people who live to complain will conveniently ignore this

You're right obviously he's been inconsistent, but the main point is that he HAS shown the flashes to suggest he can be a pretty good player in this league.
The fact that people have given up on him despite the fact that he's improved every year and despite the fact that he's only in his 2nd year as a starter and the youngest player on the 3rd youngest team in the league is inexcusable

I still don't call performing great from October through January (forgets february) and well in March and April inconsistant though. I know you guys are going to disagree with me and its beating a dead horse, but seriously...he only had one bad month this season. one REALLLY bad month, but one bad month none-the-less and he was playing through a injury.
the kid will be fine.

He played great the first two months and then he was pretty average or bad the rest of the way. I saw somewhere that Marvin was statistically the "most average" player in the NBA this season. A #2 pick in his 3rd year shouldn't be average, especially after playing so well at the beginning of the year.
