I have absolutely no problem with the Bulls not hiring D'Antoni
The owner & GM must work closely with the coach. If you are paying someone over $20 million guaranteed for 4 years, you better be damn certain that you can communicate with that guy.
Apparently Paxson wasnt certain, JR wasnt certain after the first interview & D'Antoni may not have been certain. Hence, he took Knicks offer without even waiting for an offer.
This is not an indication of cheapness. It is just plain common sense
There was NEVER a chance of Bulls getting Chris Paul. Bulls didnt have a pick that year. It was traded to Phoenix for Luol Deng
Unless by "Paul" you mean Gasol. If so, not paying Lux Tax for Gasol IS cheapness - but passing on D'Antoni is good business if there was no chemistry at the top.
