i will take MANU any day and any time, manu's offense + defense makes him the second best SG OF the league in the NBA (I say this because there are too much KOBE'S FANS HERE, personnally, manu is >>>> all the superstars, superstar care only about their own stats, manu could have a great stats, we all see that this year when TP was out, he averaged 33pts and 8 assists a game, and when TP was back, his stats dropped down, because he doesn't care about his own stats, he does every little things for bring a win to spurs).

This is a few days late, but holy crap those defensive teams are a Travesty. It's like the voters are getting these tapes on a two year tape-delay and voting for people long after they stopped playing defense.

Among the offenses:

Bruce Bowen is being propped up by Duncan having his back. 2nd team at best, but he shouldn't even be on IMO. Shane Battier deserves that spot.

Jason Kidd is one of the runners up. He got four 1st team votes! Are you kidding me? This ain't 2001!

Just because you see Raja Bell guarding Kobe doesn't make him a good defender. And besides, what about Phoenix makes you think they have any good defenders? By the way, Kobe averaged 31 ppg off 54 FG% on PHX this year.

Denver's too horrendous on D to have any guys on this list, let alone on the 1st team. Look at what Howard did to T-dot. He should be 1st team.

Look at numbers, impact, highlights etc. and ask yourself why Josh Smith isn't on this list. He was #6 on the individual DPOY list.

There's other issues but those are the big ones. 82games needs to come up with a more visible defensive stat, because right now the votes seem to be based on the glory stats and reputation, which is grossly inaccurate sometimes.

I hope Eric Snow was a joke, he hasn't been a good defender in a while, he hasn't even played basketball in an NBA game much in a while. So definatey not him, Watson could be better, but he hasn't played as well defensively the past few years in comparison to when he was in Memphis.

Do you think Dwight Howard is a good defensive player ??

Who is right now in your opinion the best defensive center in the NBA ??
IMO, Camby is an overrated defender, he is not a good defensive player

let me explain that:

superstar like kobe, Ai... never want to play as a bench player, MANU don't take so many money as those superstars, MANU can do everything, MANU's defense is much better than AI, NASH, PARKER, .... Manu can do little things are just as important as score big pts, and he is one of the clutchest player of the league.

And a lot of superstars in the league aren't better than manu. and a lot of them care only about their own stats.

There are a few of them. Quinton Ross, Ron Artest, Shane Battier, Kobe Bryant, Tayshaun Prince, Stephen Jackson to name some.

Tyson Chandler is so much better than Camby, IMO he has been probably the best defensive center this last 2 seasons

Battier should have made the 1st team just for the defensive performance he had in that game against the Lakers. I've never seen such great perimeter defense and especially on the best SG in the league.

Who exactly are you referring to?

Kobe was not guarding Iverson when he scored the bulk of his points. He went off on Fisher and Farmar. In the 4th, it was Ariza and Kobe that locked Iverson down.

Where would 35+ points and 20+ assists rank with regards to disqualifying a player from the first team?

I think if sefolosha got some more playing time he wouldve got more considerations, he'll be on the defensive teams in the future.

As TKB says, that takes out Jordan and Pippen who were burned for a 31/20/16 day (with 6 steals too) by Fat Lever (Armstrong was covering Michael Adams). One bad day doesn't disqualify you, even on national television.

Not really. Chandler's defense has actually been a little overrated. Brendan Haywood is a better defender. Yao is a better defender. If you count Sheed as a center, he's a lot better.

And considering It wasn't even a bad day defensively then the whole point is moot.

Jordan fans getting insecure, no problems.

Jordan fans don't have a reason to be insecure. He's so far ahead of Kobe in terms of accomplishments (individual) that's it's not even funny.
