No -- not really. In a series that would have been a sweep with Phil Jackson holding the reigns, Doc Rivers has led the Celtics to a Game 7 against a dangerous team now convinced they can beat Boston.
We're not a 4-5, a 3-6, or even a 2-7 match-up. We're the 1-8 match-up. We're the best team in the playoffs versus the worst team in the playoffs. The team is beyond Piston level slacking at this point.
It's a joke.
And people who think I would rather see a 35-win season need to re-read that post again and work on their comprehension skills. I am actually of the opinion this team has enough
talent to win a championship, but has possibly one of the worst playoff coaches in NBA history.
A 35-win season would mean Pierce-Garnett-Allen would find it difficult to play with each other, or believe enough in each other to win in the future.
So will a first round loss to the Hawks. Which is why the Doc Rivers debacle is making this all the more depressing.
