Dwight Howard vs. Alonzo Mourning
Current Dwight Howard, or Prime Zo?
Here are Zo's stats:

He was a much better defender. Offensively Zo IMO had more options as he wasn't just a turn around and dunk guy, but anyways, who would you guys take?

Mind if I ask, why you'd take current Dwight over prime Zo?
I just think he has a bigger impact on the game. It is close, but I think Dwight is similar to Zo in his prime but slightly better. Better rebounder, better at drawing fouls, more imposing in the post.

I think this one is prime Zo. Dwight needs to continue growing and he'll end up surpassing Zo, but as of now, prime Zo gets the nod IMO. He was a slightly better rebounder, a much better shot blocker, a better all around offensive player, and a much better defender (there's a reason he was a two time DPOY).
I think Dwight will get there, possibly by next year. I just think, as of now, Zo has the edge...

I agree in general, but I dont know how you can call Zo a better rebounder. His best year was 11 rebounds a game, and generally would get between 9-10 a game during his prime. Dwight did that his rookie year and didnt even get full start minutes. He's not at what, 14+ a game in his 3rd yr. Dwight's already got the edge on him in that category...

This season Dwight had no rebounders around him averaging more than 5.7 RPG though. Zo was getting 9.6 and 9.9 rebounds per game with PJ Brown next to him getting 8.4 and 8.6 rebounds per game, and with Mashburn getting 5.6 and Austin 5.8. All that in an era dominated by centers (as opposed to the one we see now, where even guys like Chris Kaman can get 13rpg just by being bigger than just about everyone else).

Pretty much. Dwight might be more physically dominant when he gets the ball deep on the block, and Zo's offense wasn't pretty by any means but it was effective.
Anyone picking Dwight isn't realizing how much better of a defender Zo was... terrifying.
