Conspiricies

Post#1 » by ChazzleDazzle » Tue May 20, 2008 7:49 pm

So remembering the Patrick Ewing to the Knicks conspiracy, the following lottery/draft scenario can be taken as concrete proof that the NBA Lottery is a sham. It this is how the balls bounce tonight--the truth is no longer in question.

#1 - New York Knicks - Derrick Rose
Not really original. About a billion people have pointed this out, but with D'Antoni taking over, this is the quickest way to get the mega market going again.

#2 - Miami Heat - Michael Beasley
And this isn't much of a reach, since they have the best shot at #1, but this keeps the ball in Wade's hands, and could put the Heat right back in the playoffs (meaning they don't have to pick a new superstar to pump up--Wade can pick it up again...)

#3 - Chicago Bulls - Brook Lopez
Another major market, with an (obviously) great tradition/history, and C is a desperate need for them. I live here, and right now the city is busy hating this team. They have to win their fan base back filling the low post need is a good start. Of course, they also need a coach...

#4 - Seattle SuperSonics - OJ Mayo
They don't have to suffer the PR nightmare the #1 or #2 pick (back to back superstars right as they leave town), but Mayo would help make them quickly competitive in their new city, and be fun as hell to watch.

#5 - Minnesota Timberwolves - Anthony Randolph
Wolves get screwed. Again. Everyone wins!
OR, you can look on the bright side and remember the last time we drafted a teenaged forward who was too skinny... With luck, he might keep growing and end up around 6'13"

You heard it here first.

It would make more sense to have Memphis towards the top considering they made the Lakers a top team again for little in return.

I don't believe in the NBA draft conspiracy but if Memphis and Minnesota get rewarded with the top two picks (for bringing back the LA-Boston series), I wouldn't complain.

if there is a conspiracy, then the wolves and grizz deserve the top 2 picks for rejuvenating the celtics/lakers rivalry..otherwise id say the knicks getting the top pick would also be BS..any other outcome would prove to me its not rigged

If the Knicks get a top 2 I could definitely think conspiracy as with Lakers and Celtics being dominant again, the Knicks being up there would be the next piece.

Probably wouldn't buy it as much with the other markets, maybe Chicago.

Not really. Right now, Mayo looks to be the best pick, but we're still more than a month out from the draft so anyone could leap ahead of him, let's hope its not Bayless or Gordon.

Im with you TF21. No Gordon, No Bayless. I want Mayo, but if Lopez impresses at workouts it wouldnt kill me if we took him.

I think for me, the same goes with Randolph. Maybe I'm being a little too sentimental in the sense that Randolph slightly reminds me of KG and part of me wants another KG, but like I said there's still lots of time for people to impress or disappoint McHale.
