I don't know. I'm not 100% sold that Harris can be THE point guard everyone expects/hopes him to be. His jumpshot is still a big question mark. His defense was not spectacular with the Nets and that may likely have to do with his ankles. His passing was hit/miss and didn't seem like a natural instinct (maybe spoiled by Kidd). I'm high on the guy but he is not a surefire success.
Melo can explode and kill a team by himself but this guy plays no defense and has some off court issues. RJ is nowhere near the offensive talent that Melo is and if his defense is like last season then yeah it's a no brainer but I think RJ in a diminished offensive role can still be a solid two-way player. The Nets were scoring easy enough post-Kidd trade, they just didn't stop anyone so do they want to go all out & just outscore everyone with Melo or more balance potentially with RJ ? and what type of team do you think Frank is more suited to coach ?
Camby I like the guy since his Raps days but recently I've read stuff on him like he is a poor man-to-man defender but a good help defender, goes for the blocks too much....now imagine Camby contesting attempts at the rim, if he doesn't block it you have to rely on Boone to bang with opposing C's for that potential rebound...that's worrisome. Again, this could be wrong since I haven't kept us with Camby since he left the Raps.
To me, post-Kidd the Nets starting five were scoring rather easily, they just didn't play good team defense, and bench production was very inconsistent and of course they needed a pure shooter/offensive post player to make teams pay for collapsing on Devin/RJ and double+ teaming VC. Melo adds that post player / shooter presence so it is intriguing but a Frank team is only successful when they can stop teams.
Will be interesting off-season for sure...
