..unless he's an assistant.

racist ahole.

snow will make a good coach. dunno if he is ripe right now. but there are pretty good coaches who were once players and when they retired became head coaches too soon. like terry porter, sam mitchell and avery johnson

I agree with the possible exception of Johnson... I think his style worked somewhat but wore out it's welcome just as fast.

I think Nate McMillan is a great coach and he did time under George Karl and Paul Westphal for several years before being promoted to the top job with the Sonics. I think Kurt Rambis will be a good NBA coach when he's promoted again as well. None of the ex-players promoted to head coach within 5 years of retirement that I can think of have been effective for long periods of time.

If Chicago is going to give it to a former player with no experience Id much rather it be someone who played for Phil Jackson.

Christ, I guess no one remembers Paul Silas' rant against Eric Snow?

I'm not even sure how that statement could be perceived as racist anyways. Gotta love touchy white people.

Yeah, you can find a handful of bad plays in Snow's career and towards the end he wasn't a good player at all, but you have to remember that he had a great career for somebody who didn't have any real athletic gifts or unreal talent.

He had a better than 3 to 1 career assist to turnover ratio, defended all the bigger SGs so that Iverson wouldn't have to, hit tons of clutch shots particularly in the playoffs.

I think he'll make an excellent coach. Smart player & leader.

Wow, I think maybe we're jumping the gun a little bit here.

I'm not sure you understand that statement. You do know that it means "Do you understand what I am saying?"

I'd love for someone to break that statement down and explain its racist sentiment. Because I just don't see it.
