I agree with the possible exception of Johnson... I think his style worked somewhat but wore out it's welcome just as fast.
I think Nate McMillan is a great coach and he did time under George Karl and Paul Westphal for several years before being promoted to the top job with the Sonics. I think Kurt Rambis will be a good NBA coach when he's promoted again as well. None of the ex-players promoted to head coach within 5 years of retirement that I can think of have been effective for long periods of time.
If Chicago is going to give it to a former player with no experience Id much rather it be someone who played for Phil Jackson.
