is ginobili better than kobe? no
is ginobili's impact greater or equal to kobes? no
is ginobili a top 3 SG in our league today? no
is ginobili a top 5 NBA player in our league today? no
is ginobili overrated? NO.
Kevin martin? joe johnson? i doubt they would have the same impact as ginobili on the spurs. manu does bring energy, but thats not why hes so important. the mans a winner, he appears to be calm underpressure and mentally hes ready for the kill. his skills doesn't allow him to be equal to the great closers like kobe but his killer instinct is there. his passion and desires to win the game is there. ginobili also players better defense than both, i believe he averages more steals than either of the players ive mentioned above AND in lesser minutes. maybe he even averages more blocks? im not sure about that one.
common myth that ginobili isnt capable of playing over 30 minutes. this is false, the spurs are simply a deep team, why play him near 40 when weve got effective role players like brent, finley, udoka? whats the point? the spurs are still winning arent they? whats the point of signing these role players if youre gonna let your big 3 play the 35+ minutes? theres no way to prove that ginobili cant play over 35 mins, just like theres no way to proven that he would average 25+ points.
ginobili is a cerebral player, he might not be able to sustain the same level of energy but do you guys think he is incapable of adjusting his game? is he an idiot that willl sprint like he does for 35 minutes? ginobili also plays for his country almost every offseason. we've seen competitive summer basketball effect some of our stars before, so why wouldnt it affect ginobili?
