Built for the regular season means they're a team that scores a lot and doesn't play defense(Phoenix, Denver, really most of the west outside LA and SA), whereas built for the playoffs is teams that play great, physical defense(since fouls aren't as ticky-tack in the playoffs), such as DET, BOS, CLE, SA and LA
IMO a team built for the playoffs has to play both great physical defense AND have a great offense as well. You can't have one, but not the other. I'm not trying to be a hater but a team like the Cavs shouldn't be included in the group. Their offense consists of giving the ball to Lebron while the other 4 guys stand around and watch.... that's not exactly what I would call " built for the playoffs."

Built for the playoffs is great rebounding and great defense. The Cavs are the best team in these playoffs in those 2 areas. You can win the Championship with streaky offense if you have great rebounding and great defense. The Bulls main reason for winning their 2nd 3peat was offensive rebounding and overall toughness, and they won a lot of games with very poor shooting in the playoffs. Whereas the 1st 3-peat was more up-tempo and less grind-it-out, relied far less on offensive rebounding and had more shoot-out type games. Not saying the Cavs are playing like the 2nd 3-peat Bulls, but their rebound and defense was on that level. Their offense obviously wasn't, but we saw them reach the NBA Finals without a great offense albeit with Gibson on-fire.

This is the usual fanboy stuff after there team has been knocked out of the playoffs. Its like the Magic think there better than the Pistons. Therefore if the Pistons beat the Celtics and win the championship I guess that would make them at worse the second best team if not the true champs.
