pierce is a great player.. but not wade like..

on a side note.. im surprised that you guys still around in the off season.. I dont post, but I read realgm, and ira's blog everyday on my phone.. If I knew this place was popping in the summer.. I'd be here more often lol..

Despite the Heat not being in the play offs the Heat's draft pick is enough to get people buzzing about potential prospects. Beasley or Rose?? Hmmmmm.....

In the mean time I'll be hoping the Heat don't pick Lopez with the second pick like they did in my nightmare.

Time to rewatch game 3 of the 2006 finals :D

13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in the first quarter. I'm just happy to see Odom shining after the critcism he's had so far in the series. He's in triple double Odom mode. Aggressiveness.

Must win game for the Celtics in game 5 or else they will be destined to fall like the Mavs.

remember how maligned Lamar was as a person before he got here?
It was considered a big risk for us to give up that contract

Riley made a comment that had Laker fans spewing (what don't they get nervy about though) where he asked Lamar when he was a FA again or something on the sideline while indicating their cap room in a tamper worthy talk at an LA/Heat game. Again he was asked about the trade for Shaq and was gushing about how he hated to see Odom go more than anything and would have never given him up if it wasn't for Shaq and he wishes he was still here blah blah blah. Riley has a major man crush on Odom and thats why a straight Odom for Marion swap would get done if offered IMO.

It's pretty painful watching Bryant be the Lakers top defender, top scorer, and top playmaker against the Celtics. When you combine that with the fact that the Lakers don't really have many players besides Odom and Gasol who can create their own shots and the fact that Odom and Gasol aren't very consistent and it just shows how good of a player Kobe Bryant really is.

It also shows me though, what the Heat need to work on to become champions. Wade cannot be expected to win a championship being the top defender, playmaker, and scorer. Which is why i'm glad we're either getting Beasley or Rose and that we have Marion. Beasley could deliver that big man presence and Rose could deliver that top playmaker presence, while Marion will deliver that top defender presence, and Wade will be able to focus on what he does best, being that dominant scorer. Yes he's a good playmaker and yes he should put more of an emphasis on defense, but his scoring is what will win us championships. Just like Kobe's scoring is what will win the Lakers the championship, not his playmaking.

Wow what an amazing come back. The moment Eddie House made the two to give the Celtics a one point lead I had a flashback of Payton making his game winner during game 3.

By the way that open lay up by Ray Allen at the end was just ridiculous. The Lakers defense wasn't expecting him to drive in with only a couple of seconds left on the shot clock. They just fell asleep.

It's tooo good watching Kobe and the Lakers flop.

I don't know what's better... watching the lakers flop or hearing laker fans make excuses for why the supporting cast didn't help Kobe and that's the reason why they lost

Man, I miss Posey so much. He's the perfect championship role player. What a clutch 3 point shooter in the playoffs, wow.

I was so much more upset about letting Pose go because Riley was a total ass bag about it. First he criticized him, and then he hardly offered him crap for a new contract. I totally understand the Kapono choice, I would of done the same thing, 6 million a year for a spot of shooter is not a great idea. But Posey is only making like 2.8 million and is so versatile.

Posey had 18 points, btw.

I totally disagree.

The Lakers looked their best tonight when they moved the ball and ran their offense, which was in the first half when Bryant was 0-4. In the 4th quarter, they totally went away from that and they didn't get the same quality shots.

Lamar had 13 1st quarter points on 5-5 shooting. He got 6 shots the rest of the game. That makes no sense.

They haven't gone into Gasol like they did when he got to L.A.

The amazing thing is, despite all this, if Kobe had had a normal 4th quarter shooting-wise, the Lakers probably win.

Great win for Celtics, I'm so happy for James Posey. Guys like him are a rare breed.

You say disagree, but I disagree that you disagree.

You say that Odom getting 6 shots makes no sense and that the Lakers aren't going to Gasol like they did when he got to LA.

I agree, but that happened because Gasol and Odom aren't very consistent and didn't adapt to the changes in defense the Celtics brought on.

You say the Lakers looked their best when passing the ball in the first quarter.

I agree, but the Celtics adapted and Kobe needed to be the one to step it up since Odom and Gasol couldn't and Kobe couldn't since he had to focus on playmaking, defense, AND scoring.

You say if Kobe had a normal fourth quarter the Lakers could have won.

I agree, but he didn't have a normal fourth quarter and I explained why he didn't.

As for my other point about being glad that the Heat have a top notch defender in Marion and being glad that they are getting either a scoring big in Beasley or a playmaker in Rose, you don't disagree with that do you?

I replay that shot everyday on my nerf hoop. I put on my GP jersey and give it hell. Then I realize how much of a loser I am and drink myself into a coma.......

So much more does he need? Gasol's a legit max or very near max player, Odom's a 10 million+ player. Short of another 1st team all NBA'r what exactly is gonna get him there?

I do agree that Odom is a very poor 10 mil player. The problem is he can be taken out of series, not just games but entire series' by good defensive players. Defensively he's solid but not spectacular.
