Oh r2g, I love ya man but you're setting yourself up with this thread. Btw, there's a difference between scientific fact and psychological theory. Superstition is a whole other thing... I don't see any bad luck, just a team that's up 2-1 facing two more tough road games before coming back home.

There should still be a link on Boston Globe about "BEAT LA." It's origins are perhaps one of the single greatest acts of sportsmanship in pro sports at least in this city.
The chant first happened in the game 7 loss against the Sixers in '82 at the Garden. Two games earlier the crowed chanted "See you on Sun" meaning that Boston would win in PHI in game 6. After Boston loss and was eliminated the crowd chanted BEAT LA to the Sixers. You know what it didn't work then but that isn't what it is about. It is a salute, a mantra.
Stop trashing it with pseudo psyc crap, there is no place for that here.
