It sucks because Vlad is a very good offensive player. Our offense was at its best when he was in the game and 'in the game' so to speak. He cuts well, finishes decently inside and on the break, hits the 3 and is a good passer. He also knows the triangle very well now which sucks to lose. I used to defend him quite a bit on other boards but after the finals I can't anymore. He is a terrible defensive player. Its not like he can't be, he's big and decently athletic, but he looked as if he had never even had defensive training before and didn't seem like he was trying.
He's still a useful piece to us and would probably work well against 85% of the teams in the league, especially with Pau and Drew in, he spaces much better, but with Turiaf leaving and Lamar/Ariza most likely to get the majority of the SF minutes it might be better to exchange him for Evans. He's the type of hustle and rebounding we could use off the bench in Turiaf's absence.
With Brand now and drafting Speights (who will be damn good one day imo, especially if he learns from Brand) to go along with Dalembert and Smith, Evans is kind of buried just like Vlad is to us and they need shooters. They said they wish they had Korver back and Vlad is very very similar player so it seems like it would work for both teams.
