I think this is an absolute slam dunk for both teams, I'm surprised the reaction is as mixed as it is.
To get a player the caliber of Tinsley for basically nothing, and have him go to a team that needs just a couple pieces to win a championship is so huge, it's not funny.
I don't know. Seems like a really easy deal to me.
you know it would be a slam dunk if it weren't for the luxury tax, they would be happy to give us a pick or 2 with Snow for jt. yes the Cavs want to win and win a title to make james happy, but how much money can a team spend trying? The luxury tax is brutal and the Cavs are way over it. if we could find a way to give the Cavs some savings on the tax they might do something, but they are at $87 million not counting delonte West. So they are gonna be paying the differnce between the tax level, let's say $70 million and $93 million or so with West. That's
$23 million in tax and losing out on the rebate, not to mention the free football phone.

That's gotta bite even if you are a millionaire like their owners. it just so happens that Dan Gilbert the main owner of the Cavs is worth about $478 million and the team is worth about $455 million the
difference is right at $23 millionSo if we could send them Jt and take back say $2 million in extra salary it would save the Cavs something like $4 million in tax, but trading Snow who if he retires hits the tax for about half his current salary will cost the team in effect $7 ot $8 million. So they won't be trading Snow. Like Scoot said they might do Damon jones and those other guys.
I'm gonna use some of my creative financing that i learned all those years of doing shady sub-prime mortgages here. What if we gave the Cavs Rasho Nesterovic and jamaal? That would be $8,400,000 +$6,750,000= $15,150,000 for Wally $13,775,000 and Joe Smith $4,795,000 = $18,570,000 well within the 25% rule. This saves the Cavs about $3.4 million on their cap and $6.8 million total with the tax. Now we'd have to wait until Rashos trade restriction expires and would the Cavs be willing to take on JT to save some money on this yrs Tax? Would Rasho being an exp contract be of more value on the court to them than Wally? Could we take on that extra $3.4 million and risk going over the cap? Could we make another deal to move Daniels to some team for less comming back to get under the cap and get the rebate?
