I'm not against trading him at all, but I don't think any of us are ready for the shock that will set in on Sunday or Monday when there is a 200 point font headline in MJS "FAVRE TRADED TO ......"
I like TT coming out and saying "We want a #1 for Favre"
Personally, I'm just sick of the whole thing. I can only imagine what other NFL fans that aren't for the Packers think. I want training camp to start and the organization to move on.
ESPN radio had a good point, this evening, though. It was one of the hosts of SportsNation and they were saying that maybe this ends up being a positive if you're Thompson and the Packers. Favre up and retired and they were getting nothing for him. Now it looks like he could be flipped for a 2nd round pick (maybe a 1st, though I doubt that).
Best possible scenario:
- Favre is flipped to the Jets for a 2nd round pick (1st just seems like a pipe dream)
- Jets have a nice season and we get to watch Favre play well
- Packers win the division and Rodgers looks like a legit heir to Favre
- Favre really retired and the Packers get another young talent next April
