We've lost Skip =(

Post#1 » by PitchBlue » Mon Aug 4, 2008 2:03 pm

For 21 years, I've heard his voice, laughed at his sarcastic remarks and defended him when people slammed him for being too much of a Braves "homer"

he had such a genuine love for the game.. and for the Braves and their organization, he had a love for his job.. you can just tell by the way he would enthusiastically announce games.. everyone in the organization loved him.

Just thinking about his call in the 92 NLCS when the braves came back to win against the Pirates and hearing him scream "BRAVES WIN, BRAVES WIN!" ...man... that was one of the happiest moments of my life.

and now he's gone... I won't get to hear his familair voice during Braves games anymore, I wont laugh at some of the silly things the he says.. i feel like I've lost a friend... and i still can't believe that I won't get to hear Skip anymore.

May you rest in peace my friend.

I had the pleasure of listening to Harry and Chip for many years. I know Chip was a great family man and I'm sure this was influenced by his father.

RIP Mr. Caray.

I enjoyed the clips of Skip on Braves Live last night. He's best known for the Bream slide but they had the final out of the 95 WS, the ending of the 4th of July marathon with the Rick Camp homer, his preditcion of a 6-4-3 DP, and Otis Nixon's catch" He caught the ball!"
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

The doors at the Ted are suppose to be open at 9am Tuesday for a gather at 10am that will look back on what Skip has done. That's all the information I have.
