Whoever EJ is, he's an idiot.

Got Mayo? :-)

Did anybody else see Amare/Mayo swap Jerseys. They would make a nice duo in the M.

Haha Eddie Johnson said that at the beginning of the game, which was funny b/c he did a 180 when OJ turned into Kobe at the end.

Scrappy scrappy game. Hard to believe our go-to guy was Barbosa. Amare was ok, nothing special. We shouldn't have been pushed this far, especially by the Grizzlies, no offense to GrizzFan. If we want to be in the upper echelon of the WC when playoffs begin we have to handle our business against non-playoff teams sicne it's against these teams we gotta get our wins from. As good as Mayo and Gay played, we almost lost because we almost beat ourselves with TO's.

I dunno if it's just me, but I have a feeling that Nash is starting to slip.

No offense taken by A grizzfan but, instead of casually dismissing the poor ole' lonely Grizz, do you think it might just be possible that the Grizz are an improving team, dare I say a better team than as of the last few seasons?

Just throwing it out there, of course.

Oh absolutely true, but Phoenix's goal is to be a "title contender", which means that we shouldn't almost lose to borderline playoff teams.

I of course wasn't trying to diss the Grizz or any other non-playoff teams. I'm just saying a team that is suppose to be championship-caliber shouldn't be pushed this far. I give props to the Grizzlies for playing so well the whole game and honestly towards the end, it was anybody's game, we just happen to hit the shots when it counted. I definitely don't doubt the Grizzlies are a better team than they were last season, but my criticism was aimed at the Suns, I was in no way taking anything away from the effort the Grizzlies played with tonight.

On a side note, I'm glad the Randolph-Milicic trade didn't go through, you guys need a strong inside presence but Z-Bo is definitely not the answer.

So - what I get from this is that the defense hasn't really improved much - lower scores being more a function of the slow down pace than stops - and the offense has diminished, so it's the worst of both worlds. maybe it's like cleaning your room - you know, about halfway through it looks worse than it did when you started ...

Amare's talk about turning into Artest ... doesn't seem to be much more than just a soundbite. God, this guy could be the dominant player in the league if he could just become halfway decent defensively. Are we in for another year of stiffs having career nights against Amare?

In conclusion - SunsWorld: the pants-crappingest place on earth.

Amare is without question the worst defensive player on the team. He is so frustrating to watch on that side of the court. He was also forcing too much tonight, rather then taking what was there. Matt Barnes also had a very off night tonight. Thank god for Barbosa finding the range late.

???

It's either one way or the other........................

What I mean by that is, if the lower scores defensively is more of a function of the slow down pace than stops, then isn't it the same on the offensive end? Aren't we shooting some ridiculous % as a team and still averaging over 100PPG whilst taking some 10 shots less?

As of now we're first in OffEFF(somehow even w/ all our TOs and Nash shooting like crap), but we're 18th in DefEFF. By comparison, the Lakers are second in OffEFF and FIRST in DefEFF....they're damn good.

--- And what I meant was that, it looks like the lower scoring against us is more because there are fewer possessions and a slower pace. I haven't delved into the stats re: what percentage we're allowing on defense.

Yeah exactly, my point was the offense hasn't diminished it is a bi-product of us not running as much. We are still extremely efficient on O, just not scoring as much because we don't jack a shot in SSOL.
