didn't you guys (bulls fans)say no to a kobe for deng+hinrich+gordan?

odom for nocioni is perfect for LA if chicago fans are ok with it.
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

Bobcats are looking to trade Gerald wallace, since they have Morrison waiting, and they have a big need for a PF. They might do it for AL Harrington which IMO is not even close talent wise to Odom.

An Odom for G Wallace will make the Lakers the most complete team in the NBA even more than now. He is what we need at SF, he is very good defensively, he can rebound, and is a good scorer off the ball.

LO + Walton <<>> Kirilenko + Jarron collins (expiring)
Utah will have to resign Boozer, Okur & Millsap next year which, along with yhe new contract of Deron, probably will put them way above luxury tax, they might be willing to trade Kirilenko for some cap space.
From the lakers perspective you got a good starter SF and an excelent backup SF & PF, able to do anything you need and get rid of Walton's terrible, terrible, terrrrrrrrrrrrible contract.

I came here to raise the same question. MJ thinks he's overpaid at $57M over six years. I wonder though if G Wallace would accept the lesser minutes without complaining. What's his personality make-up like? Is he a smart grounded guy or is he a spoiled me-first kind of personality?

crash is probably just a better version of ariza with a penchant for hurting himself

i currently love our 3 big man rotation too much to trade odom, trading odom means we would see mihm get backup C minutes and thats going to impact our flexible lineups

lets just hope lamar is willing to sign for ginobli money, thats a great deal for the lakers IMO

any feasible lakers trade needs to have some deadweight (luke, mbenga) going outbound IMO

Yeah. I read it somewhere this morning. Couldn't find it for you. It wasn't a quote, but someone referred to him having stated so. That's where I got those numbers.

I guess Larry Brown is not too happy with all of his personel, to say the least. But, more importantly, it seems as if they're listening to him. The article I read speculated that they would trade Wallace to GS for Harrington. That's why I'm wondering if something is wrong with his head. Why would they even entertain that thought? Because he's fragile? Raptors were also mentioned as a possible third team involved.

As Verb very well knows, I would never trade Odom unless it's an absolute no-brainer that undoubtedly makes us better . I'd easily trade Radman and fillers to get G Wallace, though . But, knowing how much L Brown loves Odom, any trade discussions involving Wallace would be driven that way, I think.

Isn't he made of glass? How is his psyche? What little I've watched him, I love his game. He'd be our Pierce stopper. Radman for Wallace! Do it, Mitch!

Would you guys pair Farmar with Walton for an expiring contract?

Sure, since we're scrapping this undefeated team and starting over for no good reason, I don't see why not.

Odom for Gerald Wallace  I've been praying for this for years! Gerald Wallace is exactly what we need. Think of Ariza on Steroids! Plus Gerald has an outside shot, better defense, and can score with the best of them. He's an absolute Freak. We would definitely have the most complete team with absolutely Zero holes if we had him. The only knock on Gerald was that he has too many concussions. But with the spacing in the Triangle and a systematic offense I don't see Gerald having that many collisions as he had in Charlotte where there coach pretty much had no offensive half court sets. He just made them run run and run some more. To think Charlotte is considering trading Gerald wallace for Harrington! That's disgusting.

Expect the Lakers want to dump salary not add salary and Wallace's contract is 2 years too long because the Lakers want expring contracts so that they can resign Farmar and Ariza.

Right now given how we are playing is hard to even think about trading or moving anything, but the Gerald Wallace deal is just to good to pass up IMO. We can trade him for Odom and get MickieDees (McDyess) to take his spot as a PF. Not a bad trade of for us IMO Mcdyess is not as versatile as Odom but he gets the job done.

but right now, odom is playing great for us, contributing everywhere, its hard to give something like that up
especially with the success the team is having right now

Odom
Radman or Walton

for

Marion

Trade works in both scenarios.. Lakers won't be able to retain Odom and Ariza at the end of the season.. so why not do this.. Walton is too good a backup too be getting no burn..

This trade would make the Lakers worse right now (no doubt) but better in the future imo.

I think the Lakers' need another veteran like a Stackhouse. He is fairly cheap at 7 million a yrs and 7.25 expiring next year. He is currently unhappy w/ his min in Dallas and is going to be moved. I really think the Lakers' need his expierence and abilty to score the basketball. When Kobe gets bottled up again and Gasol has trouble w/ KG in the post where is ball going to go....Fish can't penetrate, Ariza can't and Vlad can't and Odom can't. Sure Bynum might be able to score but he is only gonna get 8 shots. A warrior and big game guy like Stackhouse going to the hole and getting to free throw line would be awesome.

The reason Boston is so good is because of their veteran and leadership and ability to play team defence--and get every call of course. I think Stackhouse is just the savvy creative guy that could be a real difference maker. I would love to have Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol w/ Stackhouse any day over....Ariza, Vlad, Odom or Sasha. They would lay off Ariza and he'd miss J after J, Vlad they would crowd and he would turn in over passing it, Odom would use left hand back down and get stripped or miss open Js from 17 feet and Sasha would get crowed and have no ability to get by defence.

Stackhouse can hit the jumper and the three and he has skillz getting to the hoop, he'd be a great fit--just the extra veteran presence that can back up his game come playoff time.

I like Stackhouse over Marion because of Marion is not a great dribble drive guy he is open floor and wide open three guy, I like his rebounding and off the ball defence but his offence not good enough in this type of offense.

Wallace I like but his jumper is similar to Ariza, his abilty to get to rim is solid but biggest factor is his salary and length of it too much for too long.

I'd do a second rd pick and Vlad for Stackhouse any day.

Fish/ Farmar/Yue
Kobe/Sasha
Bynum/Mihm/Benga
Gasol/ Odom/ Powell
Ariza/Stackhouse/Walton

I don't think trading Lamar at this point would be good for the team, his role as 6th man is working because he ups the tempeo from half court to fast break by pushing the ball. Which teams have a tough time adjusting to.

dallas isnt going to take that deal EVER!

but if they did, then we would need to replace vladi's three point, spreading the court ability with sasha

Fish/Farmar/Sun
Sasha/Stack
Kobe/Ariza/Walton
Gasol/Odom/Powell
Bynum/Mihm/Mbenga

OR if we decide to buy stack's contract out for peanuts...

we might have a little three-man merry-go-round with kobe/sasha/ariza in the 2/3 positions much like bynum/gasol/odom in the 4/5
