Hakim Warrick & Crittenton available

Post#1 » by jtg41 » Wed Nov 26, 2008 10:27 pm

The Grizzlies' resources for acquiring a shooter may be limited, however, given their reluctance to disrupt their core group and contractual barriers. Second-year guard Javaris Crittenton has been the odd man out in the Grizzlies' backcourt and someone involved in past trade discussions.

Conventional wisdom suggests Crittenton and forward Hakim Warrick, who the Griz didn't offer a contract extension, could be trade bait.

You guys think we could swing a deal for anyone of those players without giving up key players. Since they are about 8 mil under the cap a 1 for 1 swap could work in terms of salary issues. They are looking for a shooter and I don't know if a change of scenery is needed to help improve Stack's shooting but yeah. Crittenton would be a huge upgrade over Barea in terms of size and potential and its too bad he is in the situation he is behind Lowry and Conley. I don't know how Warrick would fit when we have guys like Singleton, Williams & Bass already in the system.

Neither really make us more of a contender. And if rebuilding, both aren't future starters. So its whatever....

I like Javaris Crittenton's size and being mentored by Jason Kidd for the rest of the season could do him some good. On the other hand he has holes missing from his game and a learning curve to get over.

I'd give them Stack for a 2nd round pick and a trade exception.

Or if we are trying to rebuild, Terry for Lowry & a trade exception.

So which shooter do the Mavs have that the Grizz would want for their rebuilding process? Howard with his character issues? Terry and his age and contract situation? Green who can't even get consitant time with a SG poor team? Wright see Green? Just don't see a match between the 2 teams.

even though JJ Barea has been playing alot better
i really like Crittentons game and i think he could have a legit shot at being this teams future point guard by all means
and with JET...man i love that guy but i dont think their are many players out their that i would trade him for to get = value in return
