Anyway..

Hinrich is a tough nosed defender that can rattle star perimeter players.

He can play solid and crafty.. plus he can hit the outside shot and is a solid (above average) facilitator.

Deng would provide what Butler would have provided for our team if the trade was to happen.

He'd need to upgrade his perimeter shooting and be a better catch and shoot guy... but the overall deal would be an upgrade for the outlook of the team.

Again, I don't know if this trade rumor has any legs... probably not... so the players shouldn't be worried about anything.

Just speculation.

But seriously is there any way possible to turn Radmanovic+Farmar into Hinrich. I doubt Chicago accepts the deal straight-up unless Vladdy were to be coaxed into dropping that third year option he has left with a wink-wink promise of being re-signed almost immediately after the 30 days are over.

So Vlad with a wink-wink promise to re-sign him for a 3 year 9m deal upon his buyout in Chicago. Farmar ends up replacing Hinrich as Rose's new backup, the Bulls get the flexibility they want, we don't add payroll for these next three years (much payroll to be exact), and we UPGRADE at the PG position beyond belief. I'll be far more confident against Boston, Utah, San Antonio, and New Orleans with Hinrich/Fisher at the helm.

Smooth^

If Lakers owners are ready to cut the check then I guess "anything is possible" (think KG when you read that)

Ya I know probably not going to happen

I'm sure Radmanovic would do it though. It would really change Laker fans view of him and he'd be making a couple million extra over the next couple of years.

We'd most likely be getting someone like Nocioni instead of Deng if we trade Odom..

That might be more realistic.

Derrick Rose is aiming to be "the best point guard ever" (I think that's a direct quote from him about his future as a PG).

So with those high expectations he'll need high minutes... so this trade of yours make sense.

But to add someone like Nocioni to the deal and for us to add Radman would be great. :)

Odom would fit well with the Bulls.. and as long as Hinrich is going to be 100% again this season.. then this trade is good for both parties.

But again... I don't think this trade rumor has any legs yet so I'm still indifferent to the idea.

And yeah, Rodman would probably take that 3 million dollar deal if offered to him this season.

He'll be playing around 20mins per a game this season anyway... unless he makes the rotation for the playoffs.

Bargain deal. ;)

Nope, Bulls would be quite happy to trade Deng based on their season so far.

Put the Bulls over the table and offer something to the effect of Farmar, Odom, and Radmanovic for Deng+Hinrich. It'd truly be a coup in the sense that we really fill out the starting roster in fantastic shape. We'd be THAT much stronger and could still theoretically make up for our front court losses.

It all depends if Buss is willing to spend that cash.

They'd probably do Hinrich+Gooden for Odom period. That may be the MOST feasible deal that I've heard and arguably the best.

It leaves Farmar for a deal for a SF and addresses PG and front court worries. As far as SF though it does pretty much nothing.

I guess we're all in agreement that Hinrich would be an upgrade at PG.

Could it possibly not be? I just can't see it. He's just too capable on the defensive end in comparison to Fisher.

Fish was never supposed to be a starting PG for us at his age anyway.

He's an upgrade over SP and Atkins... and thank goodness for it.

He's playing hard out there and we're starting to gel.

Ariza and Farmar are the guys that should be earning more minutes there if they collect enough bones along the way.

A free agent sign up in the body of an excellent backup PG to back Fish up or someone able to take the starting role from Fish (but doesn't) would be welcomed... but we're not there yet.

Phil Jackson doesn't like mid-season trades and Kupchak doesn't strike me as the type to make any risky deals unless he gets offered a no-brainer.

So Sasha would either have to upgrade his playmaking duties or Ariza would have to upgrade his outside shot.

Either way it could workout very nicely for the Lakers.

That trade would be a steal for us. I would throw in Ariza and Sasha to get it done and take Karl and Sun and put them in the rotation if I had to to have Deng.

Kirk
Kobe
Deng
Gasol
Bynum

Solves the problems Tex is worried about with Kobe in his career. Gives us somebody legit to put on Pierce and to make Pierce have to play some real D. Also is a huge upgrade at the point.

Tony Allen is no Posey, but he's no slouch on defense. Given that he's going to guard Kobe a lot, I think it's safe to say we have quite the upper hand at that position. But still, he's not a bad defender by any means and he hustles like crazy. He'll make Kobe work hard.

For the Christmas game (no G Wallace), I'd start Ariza, Kobe, Odom, Gasol, Bynum.

Ariza is quick and long enough to create trouble for Rondo. If Rondo wants to create switches with Pierce, Ariza on Pierce and Odom on Rondo is a far better alternative than any combo of Fisher/Sasha and Luke/Radman on those two. Odom switching onto KG is also much better than Radman/Luke. Bynum will definitely make a difference with his length under the basket and Pau is a handful even for KG. The Celtics might be forced to adjust.

We need a defensive PG. For years, I called for a PG that can defend the speedy guards. We got Farmar, and I've since hoped he would wake up and get it one day. He didn't, and now he's injured.

Jajwanda wrote:My list is similar and it goes:

1- Philly
2- LAC
3- Golden State
4- Washington
5- Charlotte

Are likely the best fits possible.

And if we omit the Clips and the Warriors (same division) we have the following teams left to propose a deal to:

1) Philly
2) Washington
3) Charlotte

Out of those teams, G Wallace, for sure. The question is, would Larry Brown be content with not getting Odom if the Lakers ask for G Wallace? I doubt it. Also, given Radman's game and the length of Radman's contract, would Michael Jordan want Radmanovic on his team? I doubt it. He would probably rather keep G Wallace.

For us to get G Wallace, I think we would have to offer Odom. Odom for Wallace and Matt Carroll or Wallace and Raja Bell both work under the CBA with the hang-up on Raja Bell not being allowed to be traded yet. I don't know when he can be traded.

I'd take either one of those two deals at this point.

I wrote this post yesterday, but never posted it because I had to run out. Then Odom goes out and has a very focused game. He's been sick for two weeks. I guess he's back to game form, huh? Well, if he's going to play like that every game, might as well keep him.

I've heard before that he's injury prone. Is he another Jermaine O'Neal/Boozer/Meow = glassman?

No way on Ariza, I could deal with Sasha leaving. Karl? He's not on the team Star.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
