Right now I like everyone else is just holding their breath. I'm hoping for 3 weeks not 2 or 3 months.
It should place more emphasis on seeking a trade partner. With all the pieces Denver has they should be asking themselves what it will take to compete with the cream of the crop in the NBA. The answer seems to be adding a big and a wing. The Samb trade continues to confirm what I've been saying. The Nuggs don't want to pay luxury tax and they won't use the trade exception until this summer.
One example
Chucky Atkins (exp), Linas Kleiza (exp), 1st or 2nd rounder for John Salmons. This deal gets the Nuggets the rest of the way under the lux tax.
Then the Nuggets could move Steven Hunter for Eddie Najera. Najera really isn't doing much in New Jersey so dumping his contract would be a plus for them. Over the summer NJ could just buyout Hunter or waive him.
Next option
Could at least offer Atkins, Hunter, Kleiza, and first rounder for Anthony Parker and Andrea Bargnani.
Atkins, Hunter, Kleiza, Weems, for Mike Miller and Calvin Booth.
Next Option
Hunter, Atkins, Weems, for DeShawn Stevenson and Darius Songalia
Next Option
Joe Smith, Damien Wilkins for Hunter, Atkins, and 2nd rounder.
Plenty of ideas out there.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL
