I believe Mike took the backseat approach with his breeding business. Any news on how often Mike was on the property? Mike could have easily funded his business without being present at the house.
I believe many fans are taking the right approach by letting things play out. There is no reason to fully judge Mike until he's convicted.
"Did you conspire with these folks to sponsor a dogfighting venture?" U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson asked Peace.
He replied, "Yes, sir."
Phillips and Peace, in the statement of facts which accompanied their pleas, admitted to killing approximately eight dogs who did not perform well in testing sessions by hanging and drowning them just days before federal authorities first raided Virginia property owned by Vick in April. The indictment of Vick says that property was used for dogfighting.
ESPN's Kelly Naqi has learned from multiple sources that Vick, Peace and Phillips initially hanged all of the dogs in the woods behind Vick's house but at least three dogs survived the hanging attempt. Subsequently, Vick, Peace and Phillips submerged the surviving dogs' heads in five gallon buckets filled with water until they drowned.
Looks like Vick took much more of a hands-on approach than many were initially ready to believe.
HMFFL, your post was almost a month ago, so understand this response is intended to be more general in nature and not directly specific to your comments.
You don't have to actually be convicted to be guilty. We, in the public, are under no obligation to say "Well, he wasn't convicted, he must be innocent! If Vick pleads to a lesser charge. but there's a mountain of evidence indicating he actually bred, fought and executed these dogs, it doesn't somehow mean that those things never happened. It just means that our criminal justice system is inadequately prepared to properly deal with the massive numbers of felons it is forced to process.
He's a dog killer. I hope his days in the NFL are over. It makes my blood boil every time I read or hear of a new detail regarding the brutal sadism of Vick and his co-defendents. It's outright disgusting.
