Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
Simple trade that can help both teams in a limited way: one Serb for another.
Sometime around the All Star Break, trade Radmanovic to the Grizz for Marko Jaric. Radman is $500k cheaper this year and $2.3 million cheaper over the rest of the contract (both end in 2011). We all know the litany of problems Radman has and they were all on display tonight against Indy. Jaric is persona non grata in Memphis right now and has only 77 minutes and 26 DNP's to his credit this season. On the Lakers Jaric would be a valuable backup at both guard spots. He'd take the place of Yue, who really could use more minutes as a D-Fender. Right now we're seeing a big problem with the bench running the offense properly when Fish goes out and Sasha plays PG. Everyone starts shooting really early in the shot clock, guys get less disciplined. Jaric solves several problems. He gets rid of the logjam at SF. He can play either guard spot, which should reduce the load for both Fish and Kobe. When Farmar returns, he'd be the push Jordan needs to stay on his game. On a personal note, Jaric would be eternally grateful to come back to LA, where he might see his future wife Adriana Lima more regularly. He'd probably play harder as a result. He's not the PG stopper that many Laker fans want, but I don't know if that kind of player is on the horizon without paying a hefty price.
The Grizz brought back Darius Miles in part for depth. Quinton Ross is a bit small filling in at backup SF. At worst, Radman would provide them insurance. He'd improve their outside shooting. Somehow his lack of hoops IQ fits better on a younger, athletic team that wants to run more. Plus the savings from Vlad's contract would help pay for Miles if they choose to pick him up for the rest of the season.
It's not a blockbuster. It's a trade that helps in noticeable ways for both teams without ripping either party off.

Do you really think Buss wants a 100 million dollar pay roll?
Odom is staying.

Well Kirk could be the guard u're looking for and Noc plus Ariza can make Odom's work since he s been overrated fir his actual salary

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
Joe Crawford scored 45, yesterday. 45 isn't so easily written off as a fluke, especially not when the opponent was good enough to win the game. He must be a pretty potent offensive player. I really think we need more backup at the point. Now.
How is his defense?
If Fisher gets injured, we're in knee deep doo-doo. I don't want to see D-Fish play any more than 30 minutes at this point of the season.

I'd do Sasha, Vlad and Mihm for Larry Hughes and Lindsay Hunter in an instant.

No offense, but you're one trade happy fellow, aren't you?

Two suggestions a day, something like that?
It's all good, broham.

I just like coming up with scenarios where Vlad or Luke leaves this team, I can dream can't I.

That's what we do here. Again, no offense. Just an observation.

Hinrich is back tonight and playing against Portland. Let the rumor mill swirl with the latest Laker to go down with injury in Sasha.
I'll start us off with, Vlad, Mihm and Farmar for Hinrich , A Gray and L Hunter even though Hunter can't be traded till Feb 13......

bulls have derrick rose, their value for farmar isn't going to be high enough for them to absorb vlad rad. they're better off getting a straight expiring.

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
It is tough to say Hinrich makes 36.5 million over the next 4 years so he is gonna be tough to move, most teams aren't looking to add a huge salary like that. Vlad will make 19.4 over the next 3 w/ the third year being a player option so it is not that bad if they can use him. I know Nocoini has really struggled.
Farmar is a strong back up and only makes 1.9 next year so I think it is a strong move for them. Mihm is an expiring at 2.5.
I don't think it is a bad deal but Chicago has Hughes and Nocioni with bad contracts right now and they are probably trying to move them or package them w/ either Hinrich or Gooden.

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
Rip Hamilton it seems has lost his way in Detroit without Billups on board. They are set up nicely this year with an upcoming cap of 33 million with AI and Sheed off the books. I was thinking if the Lakers' shipped Odom for Rip and say Kwame or Amir Johnson then they would save an additional 11 million bringing them all the way down to 22 which would be a very quick rebulid w/ the right signings.
Lakers' would then have their SF that can shoot the three, hit clutch free throws and get his own shot without anybody's help with the dribble drive game.
The Pistons are small right now and Odom this year would help a lot w/ them going w/ small lineups and Rip even coming off the bench. AI, Stuckey, Sheed, Odom and Prince would be very nice.
Lakers' with Fish, Kobe, Bynum, Gasol and RIp would be torture for any team.

if Rip is lost without Billups, how will he find his way here? Fish isn't exactly Billups
now if we had Billups, that would be a different story entirely

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
Well in the Lakers' system their point guard and small forward players basically spot up at the three point line as Kobe operates from the elbow or the start off with a post pass to either Bynum or Gasol.
Thus it creates space because of the over play on Kobe with most teams. Rip would give the Lakers' maybe the best 2 point jumper in the game along w/ a three point shooter of .440 from last season. Not to mention he can finish at the rim and hit free throws at a career clip of .854 %.
The biggest thing Rip would provide is a dribble drive option w/ Kobe on the bench getting his rest at the end of 1 and the end of the third and early 4th. I would love to go to battle w/ a lineup of Farmar, Rip, Bynum, Powell and Ariza while Kobe is sitting.
Since the more minutes to Powell more recent I have found that he has a nice jumper from 12 feet in and could be a real asset if Odom is moved.

Yo- Gooden and Nocioni for Odom.
Gooden is expiring, and gives you big-man instant offense off the bench.
Nocioni is declining contract, big upgrade in terms of toughness over Rad/Walton/Odom, and can hit the open three, rebound hard, hustle and occasionally posterize.
Good for Chicago because we consolidate the forward jam, and improve the ball-handling in front-court.

I like Gooden a lot but Nocioni and his contract is not what the Lakers' are looking to add. Andreas makes 8 mill this year and then 7.5, 6.8, 6.6 w/ a team option for the last but that is a lot for a player shooting .407 % from the floor. That being said if the Bulls took Vlad and you guys added Kirk Hinrich then we are closer I'd imagine.
Gooden, Kirk and Noc for Odom, Vlad, Farmar and Luke. However, the Lakers' are not likely giving up Odom this year because of Bynum's new contract that kicks in next year.
The only players the Lakers' would consider moving is Vlad and Luke with the outside chance of Farmar if it meant they got a Point guard in return and either Vlad or Luke was going with.

Re: Official Trade Thread (all trade ideas here. No exceptions)
From the Toronto Sun, not sure why the Lakers would do this, but what do you think?
A reliable source also told me that Lakers forward Lamar Odom (expiring this season) is another possibility in an O'Neal deal. The Lakers' Andrew Bynum has not played up to expectations this season (grabbed five rebounds combined in two recent games, isn't controlling the boards like he should) and Pau Gasol is an extremely soft big.
Odom and filler to make the salaries match (Mihm and a minimum contract?) would make some sense for both sides.
L.A. could split its 96 frontcourt minutes between three effective bigs and overpower Western opponents (with Kobe waiting in the wings to decide any game).
Odom would keep the Raptors competitive and give them a multi-talented ball-handler who can create his own shot and shots for others. The team would have the cap space to go after a couple of solid free agents this off-season, when Odom, Anthony Parker, Jorge Garbojosa and Joey Graham come off the cap.

Would you guys do
Odom + Farmar for Lee + Duhon + Rose (works in the trade checker)

That would be a nice deal for both parties, with Odom returning to NYC. Lakers get Rose an expiring and Lee a rebounder that is needed and a decent backup in Duhon.
