IMO it's going down in flames.
I highly doubt it is ever built.
My guess is yhe team will be sold as soon as Ratner's stock goes bak up some and stabilizes.
Even though the team continually hemmorages money and profit it is probably one of the most reliable assets Ratner currently owns.
I'm starting to seriously doubt this thing gets done either. I can possibly see Ratner putting the team up for sale as soon as the end of this year personally. A lot of guys in his ownership group bought into it for the sole reason of moving them to brooklyn. The whole complex was going to turn that part of brooklyn around which puts a nice amount of coin in the owners pockets. If it doesn't get done, I really think they'll just cut their loses.
Only problem here is, with whoever buys them, if they can't make this team a title contender within a season or two of purchasing it, they're gonna lose money, just like every other damn owner of this franchise. I think that's going to scare off a lot of potential area buyers. My gut reaction here is this: If Ratner puts the team up for sale, the Nets are moving away from us. Either Seattle or Vegas (extreme long shot after the all-star game debacle) are the destinations I think they'll land in. The only problem I could foresee there is that both those destinations would put the team in the western conference...but I don't see any cities in the east that could use/want a team and would actually make money there.
I'm rambling, but these are just some of the thoughts that have gone through my head lately.
