He was buried on the depth chart, but was a pretty solid player IMO.

He was a hard nosed Bear type player. He will be missed.

Maybe Angelo recoups a similar pick that was given for Walker, then the trades essentially turn out as Chris Harris for Darwin Walker. Obviously a great trade there.

But yea, we didn't need him with Archuleta, Manning, Brown, McGowan and Payne around.

I trust Angelo a lot and I know he got us something good for Harris but still, I really liked Harris as a player(except for that stupid thing he did with promising that guy Superbowl tickets) and I hope he does well.

Edit: Wiretap says we traded him off for a 5th round pick which is decent. I was hoping for more.

Yeah, this is a Walker for Harris deal which is definately a positive (especially since it nets out with us moving up in the 5th round)

If Walker plays enough snaps it will turn into a 4th round pick.

But still a good trade.

I guess its just me but I dont like the trade personally.

what happens when Mike Brown gets hurt???

is mcgowan good enought to step in yet or Payne?

And lets just pray brown and archuleta both dont go down.

we are covered if brown are AA get injured as we have D. Manning. This makes snese. We don't need both guys as the odds of both getting injured are slim. And I hear they really like Payne, so more draft picks for a kid most likely not to make the team and get a pay raise if he did is fine by me.

I never really liked Chris Harris. Sure he had some fun hits on guys, but it always seemed that if he didn't get the highlight reel hit/tackle, he wiffed and completely missed the guy. Good move by Angelo.

This shouldnt be a bad deal...We did get a bit thin at teh safety spot but D Manning is a very solid backup and I'm sure Payne has shown enough to be the next Chris Harris (not much to live up to)

I don't see this deal as hurting the Bears much or really helping them. I thought Chris Harris was underrated but still mediocre. Just had to clear up a logjam and Harris was the odd man out.

No harm done, unless the entire secondary gets injured, then there'll be an issue, but that's a bridge best left uncrossed.

Obviously, with the Archuleta signing, Harris became expendable. Loads of depth at safety. Better him than Mike Brown. Who would you rather have? Chris Harris or Darwin Walker? That was essentially the trade.

If Brown gets hurt the same things happens that would have happened if Chris Harris was here. Danieal Manning steps in. Chris Harris was not a key backup for this team. Hell Todd Johnson got time before him last year when Brown got hurt.

I guess the fact that we at least scored a draft pick in the deal is good, but I'm sad to see him go. I know we have plenty of depth in the secondary, but what happens when Brown gets hurt? I'm not 100% sold on Archuleta yet, and if he goes down too then we've got Manning and Payne with nothing much in reserve. I know we had plenty of safeties, but they also have injury histories.
