That'd be a dream come true, but I really don't have my hopes set that high. Paul Pierces don't come along but once in a blue moon, and I don't see Walker having the arsenal that Paul has at his disposal, 3 point or otherwise.

just figured id remind everyone that if it wasnt for his injuries bill walker wouldve been a lottery pick...and that if you watch old clips of the trojans from their high school days, the majority of oj mayos assists were bad alley oop passes that bill could only put down because of his incredible vertical and body control

i have a hard time comparing his style to someone else. he is very explosive and strong. the old nbadraft.net and draftexpress comparisons gave vince carter (with balls). he can throw down as well as anyone, hell fine tune his jumper, and hell work hard on both ends.

i have high hopes for bill walker, but a hard time predicting his ceiling. he has as much upside as anyone except the very best lottery picks, its hard to figure out how much to handicap him because of his injury concerns, but he doesnt seem to lack any confidence or work ethic. i honestly wouldnt be surprised to see him as one of our starting swingmen after pierce and allen are gone

That's what I see - though I'd be a a-hole to project that level of accomplishment - his game is similar as he is a "power wing" who can post up and use his body to beat down defenders. I like his developing mid-range game and his set 3pt shooting is only a couple of years away IMO.

Its hard to say what his ceiling is because he played so little, but his body control and hands are excellent and he's a physical specimen at 6'6 230lbs...right now i'd say he'll at least be as productive as Desmond Mason at his peak - 12-14 pts 5/6 rbs...I think his natural skill level at its current development is good enough to be a rotation guy/starter....

Its going to be about what he does from here that will determine his trajectory - I believe he has at least 3rd option scorer potential if he masters the one-dribble pull up and the spot-shot, which he can use to set up his slashing game - that would make him a 16-18 ppg type guy - assuming he refines his finishing at the rim, which is solid, but not spectacular now...

If he soaks in everything Pierce can throw at him over the next 3 years he's going to be a dangerous player off the bench, looking alot like Pierce did his rookie year...where he goes from there will be a matter of how consistently he can execute what he does - the natural ability is there to do everything that Pierce does in time, but the FREQUENCY is yet to be determined...

Bill just doesn't have the power and weight to throw around to even make the driving comparison to Paul Pierce. Let alone an assumption he could develop Pierce's footwork.

So far he's look like Justin Reed with athleticism and the urge to drive hard in the NBA to me.

i dont know what you watch, hes very powerful, he has decent size but not pierce size, and has pretty good footwork...watch some clips of his baseline maneuvers

Pierce is almost the excact same size as Walker and Bill has been a power player his whole career - he's all about beasting fools with his wide shoulders and sturdy frame...he played at 260 last year at K-State...don't see much difference...

He should play one-on-one with Pierce more often in practice.

Did bill play ball at some point with Mayo? I recall reading about him lpaying H/school with Mayo I think and he played as a power forward? Sound right?
