I guess a coach is not in charge anymore. I guess the players decide when they play and when they come out. What type of examples does that set when the star player wont do what the coach wants.
Your man crush on Melo has blown my mind.
I have never seen Kobe or Lebron refuse to come out of the game. It is called rotation. If a sub player knows when he is comming into a game and for about how many minutes he can prepare and be a better player for it. This makes a back up better. Melo cant win it all by himself. I am sure coach is looking at the bigger picture, that if he keeps his subs playing at a high ability come playoff time, Melo wont have to do it all. Denver can advance if everybody is on the same page. If Melo runs the show, why even have a coach. Denver is doing the right thing and in the long term I believe it will help denver win more games.
Karl Malone used to waive off substitutions when he'd get into foul trouble. Sometimes he'd end up getting pulled anyways, sometimes I think Sloan was sort of asking him if he could stay in. Regardless this isn't the first time stuff like this has happened.
