The Grizz announcers, who weren't bad, dismissed the loss to the Thunder as "we weren't at full strength". If we hadn't used the same excuse for the Rockets on the same level difficulty games, this would strike me as kinda sad.
The marketing on FSTennessee is pretty much the exact same as ours. Does anyone else feel cheap and gullible right now?
Gasol is apparently one of the better 4th quarter performers in the league, which says at least one of three things given that the Grizzlies, as a losing team, are going to have a higher percentage of blowouts and not-close losses,
1. This is due to his being put in more often against subs in non-critical minutes
2. His stats are inflated due to this
3. He's not as good of a player via watching and stats as he would at first appear to be (probably true, but to what degree is anyone's guess)
If any Grizz fans are reading this
Grizzlies seem to have a good core, on paper, and they seem to have it this year. Still, they don't win? My theory is that (as far as offense goes) Warrick, Mayo, and especially Gay are stat padders and/or overrated (Warrick obviously being excused from the last part). Really, the only player I like on the team as a building block would be Gasol. Mayo may eventually be good and a capable distributor, but I read about him having problems with being a team player in college as well, which doesn't look promising. I'm very glad we didn't keep Gay.
The Marines seem to be a major sponsor on their network, doesn't look good for the tennessee economy (though it's always been a poorer state, and given some of the economic woes they've had before, that's probably still a step up. Working sulfur and coal mines ain't pretty)YaoZaii wrote:how on earth did cook ever got that contract of his?

According to this, Gasol IS the Grizzlies building block. (posted a day after my quoted post, bahahaha win)
So are Conley and Lowry... ah.. oops. Nice try anyway, Mr. Chris Wallace! Here's your cookie

Morey 2020.
