The loudest roar from Bears mini-camp erupted after Caleb Hanie sprinted up the middle on a quarterback keeper and then attempted to juke a defender.
"It probably looked terrible, and even worse on film," Hanie said with a laugh. "I don't know if the guys were hollering because it looked bad or because it was good.
Probably the latter, based on what coach Lovie Smith had to say about Hanie as mini-camp concluded.
"Every time we've given Caleb an opportunity, he has performed well," Smith said. "The early results from what he has done have been pretty good. He has a good arm. He's mobile. [Quarterbacks coach] Pep Hamilton will do a great job with him and we should see a lot of improvement from it."
