Really? Jose Theodore says hi.

Yeah and? Theo has picked it up a lot and has been one of the bright spots on this team. He's good enough to win us games against the Rangers, Habs and Panthers.

Highly doubt that man. I watched Theo every game when he was in Montreal. I saw him in his prime years and he's not a goalie anyone should feel comfortable with heading into the postseason. Your games will be won by Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom and Green. You games will be lost by defense and goaltending. Your offense has just been too high powered this season to show how weak the goaltending and defense really is. If Openthedore couldn't come anywhere close to a stable, franchise goalie that'll carry a team during his prime, he sure as hell isn't going to do it now.

I can't really comment on his performance as much as you but it's hard to imagine him sucking enough to let the most offensively talented team in the league lose in the first round.

-Blackhawks are in (thank God) and are now 4th in the West. Canucks move to 3rd, Flames slide to 5th. Minnesota within 2 points of 8th seed St. Louey.

-In the East, Philadelphia beat a sorry excuse for a hockey team in the Maple Leafs and leap frog Carolina for 4th. Florida couldn't beat an even sorrier excuse for a hockey team in Atlanta, at home no less, and still remain 2 back of the Rangers. Sabres won in Washington, they're now 4 back.

-11 games today, all but one of them have playoff implications in some form. Phoenix and LA will play for f***'s sake. Things shall be a changin' once again.

Sean Avery and Tim Thomas should both be suspended for a game. That game could have really gotten ugly. Thomas needs to keep his cool there.

hey our sorry excuse of a hockey team has been relatively decent this year... not playoff decent (as usual) but decent enough to piss a bunch of contending teams off.

In the East:

-Congrats to Boston, they have won the conference.
-Carolina clinches a playoff berth after winning their 8th straight against the Pens. Oddly, they are 5th in the conference and the 4th place team, Philly, hasn't clinched.
-The Rangers don't really feel like keeping the 8th seed, apparently, but no one is willing to take it from them.

And the West:
-Vancouver loses which puts Calgary in the division driver's seat for now.
-Dallas is out. It felt like only yesterday when they were 5th in the conference. But that's not true, because yesterday they were 12th in the conference. Just like today.
-Nashville is now 8th, St. Louis is 9th.

Sorry, not nearly as funny or awesome, but I am sleepy.

This season just isn't meant to be... Markov out 3 weeks and Schneider gone for the season and playoffs = fail. *sigh*

Screw Mikhail Grabovski. I hope we hold on to Laraque so he can beat the **** out of him next year, then we move him.

Yeah that won't happen. Laraque won't fight someone unless they agree to the fight. Glad he is gone from the Pens.

The referees effed the Panthers in the a tonight. Flyers's first goal should've been taken back because the guy kicked it in. And then in the setup to their second goal, some Flyer crosschecked one of Florida's defenseman in the back, leaving them open for a surprise goal. This will probably cost the Panthers a postseason berf.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Did you see Heatley's cross check against Montreal that led to the goal? I say they refs pulled it even tonight.

Re: Race for the Stanley Cup Playoffs (PHI, PIT clinch)

Some important stuff happened but very little in terms of standings shifting:

East-
-Philly finally clinches a playoff berth after seemingly not wanting to lately.
-Carolina is tied with Philly with 97 points after winning something like their 27th game in a row.
-Pittsburgh clinches their playoff berth after beating those scrappy sons of guns the Tampa Bay Lightning. Keep on trying, Bolts. You win these last few games and you won't fade completely into anonymity.
-Big game in the Big Apple goes the Rangers way. Rangers now one point behind the Northerners for 7th. Philly beat Florida to clinch, now Florida is close to being on life support, which at this point in the season shouldn't surprise any of us. Seriously, how many seasons in a row has this been in which the Panthers finish 9th or 10th in the East? I think it's 3.
-Are the Sabres out? There's tiebreaking rules and such but I don't feel like figuring it out.

West-
-Wave goodbye, Edmonton! You lost to LA at home and are out of the race. Can't wait for the massive front office upheaval that will follow.
-Nashville loses their final home game of the year to Chicago and now have to win on the road to get into the playoffs AND hope the Blues stumble. Recipe for success? I think so.
-Speaking of those Blues, they win in a tough building to play, the vaunted Jobing.com Arena, and now sit 8th in the West. The Blues are also tied in points with the Ducks, who frankly I keep forgetting about.
-Big game in Vancouver goes the Canucks direction and now the Flames and Canucks are re-tied for the Northwest Division lead. You can just feel the sexual tension between these two, can't you?
-Someone woke up the Minnesota Wild and they continue to cling to hope that they'll return to the glory days of being swept in the Western Conference Finals.
-Avs and Sharks played a game, too. Mazel tov.

Only two games tomorrow, one important for the West (Jackets-Hawks), the other not important for anything (Sabres-Leafs), unless the Sabres are still in the playoff hunt, in which case it will become unimportant Thursday.

That's pretty much all that happened tonight other than the Sabres not eliminating themselves yet. Hawks need one more point to clinch 4th.

Congrats to the Jackets, though. Great fanbase that deserves some playoff hockey.
