Way to put words in my mouth. I compared his impact to Zaza's yet I said you guys should be terrified of him? Riggghttt. all I said was he has the ability to change games with his rebounding and toughness (mainly his offensive rebounds). Hes done it time an time again in the past month and a half. We will be getting beat on the boards badly and he will come in and take over.

And to the guy above me, how does immaturity equate to poor work ethic? It's not just the reports I've read, you can tell by watching him play. He has improved at every facet of the game month by month in his rookie year. He is an entirely different player now then he was at the beginning of the season. Go take a look at his splits, from month to month his TOs dropped, his FG% increases, and his personal fouls dropped (among others).

Maturity often does play a factor in work ethic. Whether Beasley has this problem is another story. But you can't say the two are totally unrelated.

I like Beasley. He has a lot of ability and he's going to be a very good scorer at the least. The rest is up to him.

Glad to see the bench gets some time out there and I didn't expect Woodson to allow them the amount of minutes they received. I hope to see the same against Memphis.

I'm not as worried about Michael Beasley during the playoffs as long as Josh Smith and company stay focused. The minute we get frustrated out there is the time when Michael will shine. I just hope Mike and Joe are prepared to defend Wade!

I've read nothing or seen anything since he has gotten to Miami that has pointed to him not having a good work ethic. It has nothing to do with being blinded by the truth, there is just absolutely nothing to make me feel that he has a poor work ethic. The fact that he is so skilled could also point to him having a good work ethic. He has an amazing jump shot for a big man, but I'm sure he was born with that right?

He isnt very mature. During games, hes all business... but he jokes around a lot in practice. A little more that Spolstra or Wade would like... as they have both said so.

However, he has worked very hard this season, and put in a lot of hours to improve his game... and adjust to the different role he has had to play this season.

you said and i quote

Jamal Magloire getting minutes "should scare the **** out of you"

and lol at the jsmoove and beasly comparsion. I will remember to bump this after the series after you seel how your boy beasly stacks up.

I guess I went a little over board, but I was responding to a poster that made it seem like its a bad thing that we were giving Magloire minutes. Some Hawks fan was on our board talking about how Magloire is as irrelevant as Soloman Jones, which is a joke.

I never understood the people who say Beasley has a poor work ethic. Did his game just get that polished overnight? I would also imagine he has put some time in the weight room judging by his body and bench pressing numbers at the combine.

BTW Sorry Heat fans but I'm not buying Magloire being a factor in this series. P.J. Brown was Boston's primary backup big in the playoffs but he was just a non-factor whenever he got in vs the Hawks because of how slow he was. Just the thought of a stiff like Magloire trying to run the floor with Horford or Smith is hilarious.

Agreed. All the reports I heard about Beasley before he came to Miami questioned his maturity, but never his work ethic. His game clearly shows the work he puts in.

It's not about him running the floor, it's about him being a physical presence for the Heat. Undeniably, he will be. The playoffs see a stark slowdown in play, so I'm not too concerned about him getting run out of the gym. What Magloire does for the Heat is he gives them someone who can knock heads around. Who else is going to do it for them? Haslem's 6'8", JO's a shell of what he used to be, and Beasley's not that kind of player.

I'm not saying Magloire will definitely be an impact or anything stupid like that, I'm saying that he does have his uses and could prove effective in this series if it slows down (as most playoff series do).

At any rate, good luck to the Hawks. Hope it's a clean, well played series...

That was me. :D

Magloire is old and has always been a stiff, and I greatly look forward to the huge athletic advantage our big guys (not so much The Zaza) will have every time he's on the court. He's just completely irrelevant to this series. He's a terrible matchup for young explosive athletes like Josh and Al.

Beasley, on the other hand, might just determine the outcome of the series. If he has an outstanding series, you guys might steal it from us. If not, I don't see how Wade and the rest of that awful supporting cast wins 4 games against us.
