Not to mention I SEE the hawks being a better team than the heat in this series.
Also dont tell me that with the refs being mentioned so much that its not a possibility that things would happen, and that the league wouldn't prefer a Lebron VS Wade matchup. Unless the hawks come out and convincingly show themselves to be the better team funny sh## will occur if allowed.
REAL TALK pimp, no hurt feeling intended. Just be lucky your on the striped side if and when it happens.
Thats still a joke, because what if we aren't on the striped side? In fact what if Miami gets screwed by the refs? Then the double standard really comes into play, because now we aren't allowed to complain since "Wade gets every call".
The truth of the matter is, while Wade gets more calls than a lot of players, the majority of that is because he handles the ball more than other players. As a team, we drew less fouls than the opposition this season by about 1 a game.
See, lets say 20 possessions for each team go by. Wade handles the ball and takes a shot on 12 of those 20 possessions for Miami. Joe Johnson, Atlanta's best player, does the same on maybe 6 of those possessions for Atlanta. Wade gets 3 touch foul calls during those 20 possessions. Joe only gets 1... but Josh Smith and Al Horford each get 1 a piece as well. Since the calls are spread out, there is no clear target... but with Wade, there is, on TOP of the already assumed ref bias.
Anyways, as a Miami fan, believe me when I say I've gotten used to the ref excuses... but its just extra lame that its being used as a crutch before the series even begins. Meaning you know the second a questionable call occurs, everyone's going to start complaining about it. You say Atlanta fans are used to the scorekeeper jokes and injuries etc, but I haven't seen Heat fans harping on about that in our game thread.
But don't get me wrong... I may object to the ref excuses, but I respect the hell out of the Hawks. They are talented at pretty much all 5 positions, and if Boston really is without KG, you guys have a real shot if you can get past Cleveland. All I'm asking is don't immediately play the ref card the first time Miami punches you guys in the mouths... the Heat may not win, but its going to be a tough series for both teams. And I promise Heat fans aren't going to moan about scorekeepers or whatever either.
