It doesn't matter what happens in the next round. This was our Finals...our championship. The pressure is completely off now and maybe we can give the Lakers a run...and if we can't its no big deal b/c we have the nucleus to get to the second round..we just need to build on it.
This was all about this round for us. This series went ideally for us. We won game 1...and then took care of home court. We came close to giving it away in games 3 and especially 4 but we found a way like we always have. This Rocket team is the most resilient, tough minded team of this McGrady/Yao era. Its unfortunate a healthy McGrady couldn't be here to contribute. But these guys took what they had and made it work. From Yao's dominating game 1....to Scola's consistent effort that carried us through the games like game 3...to Artest's big time performance in our biggest game this season.
Too many times we have a chance to win a series in this era and too many times we lack the big game performance we got tonight from Artest. While it might be a long shot...this performance alone warrants him being back here in Houston. He was brought here to deliver us to the second round and he did.
Our bench..what can I say. We went from one of those teams that were mostly reliant on their starting 5...to having our bench propel a 31 point quarter in a big playoff game. Wafer, Lowry, Landry and even Hayes have given the versatility and talent this team has sorely lacked in its second unit. Adelman did a great job of developing them..especially Wafer. Adelman just let him be Wafer...told him to worry about nothing else but scoring. And its taken him from D-Leaguer to a guy that will earn a lot of money this off season.
I mean I am struggling to put this all together because this hasn't sunk in yet and probably won't until the weekend. All I know is that for 5 years I have felt your pain. I came over here as a former Magic fan so add 8 years on to that and thats 13 years. Lucky #13. I didn't think we could do it...I thought too much of the Blazers....I thought they could get more out of the rest of their players. I knew what we had...I just didn't expect them to only be Roy and Aldridge. We did a great job defensively on the rest of their guys especially Outlaw and Rudy.
I am happy....I dunno what else to say. We had a 6 point lead with 6 mins to go against the Jazz in game 7 two years ago. I thought we would finish it...I thought that was our moment. We didn't..it hurt like hell...I was depressed for days....Tonight....we left no doubt and for a team that if you expect the worst you usually get it....I think the way we did it tonight was a feat all on its own. Yea...we are in the second round.

It's only right to watch us accomplish this feat with Bill Worrel doing the commentary. And does anyone know where I can view footage of the post-game interviews with Yao, Artest, Deke, etc? I was watching the game on TNT, but it was a crowded venue and I couldn't hear anything.

KR I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything other than a torrent. DavkaBT should have the torrent up some time today. If its the full game that means is Worrell doing it. TNT didn't cover it until the second half.

And he can also stand the f*ck up, and wear a red shirt to the game. What a Deuche. I hope the LA matchup doesn't bring out more yuppies like that. The Rockets need the fan support.
P.S. I'd love to ad a beat LA banner to my signature...if anyone can tell me how that would be awesome.
