Here's the thing. The team won 66 games last year and 62 this year with KG out for a good portion of the season. Scal, Baby, and Powe ALL showed their worth in that time. House is sort of a 3 point specialist, but he's also had some huge games. Why mess with that?

Besides which, I think Davis has tremendous upside. (Powe perhaps a little less.) A few years from now, Davis could be an all star. I don't think you have to break the bank to keep either around.

It's fine to say that Scal, Baby, Powe and House are replaceable, and they may be, but with whom? If a guy's on the bench, you don't want to pay him big money, and if you don't pay him big money, he's not going to be starting quality. Bottom line - Ainge should not pull any Pitino moves with Davis and Powe. He already traded away AJ and D West (though he got good return).

Brett, I agree those guys have been good for us, but apart from Baby, we can get guys who have the other guy's skills (or in Scal's case, much better). I'm not saying I *want* to get rid of them, but if the right deal came along, you'd have to make it...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I just hope we don't become like the Pistons. I really don't care about being in ECF 6 times...how about a few more rings..

Why? Because we need to upgrade..

I mean last year we had Posey, PJBrown, Powe and Garnett playing up front. And we won a championship. How will we do with Scalabrine and Davis playing up front instead? .... So far it hasn't been pretty..

Garnett's knee injuries are reportedly minor. I have no reason to suspect otherwise, because if he had major, career-threatening injuries he would have been shut down during the season instead of asked to put off his surgery until after the postseason.

But even if this was a major injury, what's with all these people who think knee injuries are the worst thing in the world? It's not the 90's anymore. Medicine has progressed. We have pretty good recovery rates for most knee surgeries now.

If KG's injury was minor, he'd be playing. And major knee injuries are always career threatening this late in a players career.

Can't disagree with this.
