Besides which, I think Davis has tremendous upside. (Powe perhaps a little less.) A few years from now, Davis could be an all star. I don't think you have to break the bank to keep either around.
It's fine to say that Scal, Baby, Powe and House are replaceable, and they may be, but with whom? If a guy's on the bench, you don't want to pay him big money, and if you don't pay him big money, he's not going to be starting quality. Bottom line - Ainge should not pull any Pitino moves with Davis and Powe. He already traded away AJ and D West (though he got good return).
