Rondo will make $2 million next year, the 4th year of his rookie contract.
His extension, if he signs one this offseason, won't kick in until 2011.
sully and I have been duking this one out for a while.
My opinion, which you probably know, is that anything less than
$11 million + $2 million incentives in 2011 offered in the first week of negotiations
results in Rajon saying bye bye.
Rajon has already said that he considers himself the best point guard in the league.
Rajon's agent Bill Duffy is the point guard guru.
I doubt Rajon signs for anything under 5 years, $65 million guaranteed PLUS $10 million in incentives.
The risk of making Rajon wait a year is he gets awfully close to unrestricted free agency, plus the incentive part could diminish and become all guaranteed.
