Gasol has always finished well, his hero teammate just doesn't like sharing. Gasol shot over 60% in last years finals while Kobe shot somewhere in the 30's. Just like the previous time Kobe lost in the finals with Shaq.

Over 60%
In the 30's.

= Awesome

?? Sorry I didn't look it up, I'd guess Gasol at 62% and Kobe at 37%. Either way he's a chucker.

Go Kobe. Feel better about this game. Gotta get one of these three and finish them off at home.

Ariza, where art thou?

Is Pietrus the best player in the world until the Lakers win again?

btw, in this scenario, I'd go:

Shakespeare = Lebron
Homer = Garnett
Dante = Kobe
Milton = Howard

Hey, I guess when your champion pulls a Dan O'Brien 1992 and never shows up for the title fight, all you have left are jokes. 8-)

Good thing LeCash's fishing boat comes equipped with flat screen monitors so that his LeFanclub can watch the game tonight.

Gotta beat the best to be the best, but once you've beaten the best, you are probably still not the best until Kirby signs off on it.

Who was the better player in 89-90? MJ or Isiah Thomas?

Was Isaiah involved in any debate at the time as the best player in the game? Come come now.

Wise only uses the winning defense because that is the only thing that Kobe has over LeBron... Well, he has had much better teammates over the years as well, but we won't get into that again.

When all other things are apparently equal, winning in sports will always be the deciding factor. Go ahead and promote Lebron if you want, certainly your right. However, history will not treat him as kindly as Kobe and the rest of the game's legends unless he wins a title.

As far as the better teammates argument. It's as weak as its ever been. There are no excuses in sports. I'm pretty sure Magic and Bird had better supporting cast than Lebron too if I were to follow your argument. Would that fact also make Lebron a better player than those two? No. Magic and Bird are great because they sealed the deal. Same with Kobe, even moreso if he gets by the Magic. I don't think Bynum, Gasol and Odom compare to McHale, Parrish, and Dennis Johnson. I'd say Jabbar, Worthy, and Cooper were better than the Lakers current crop of others as well.

Suck it up guys. You can't cheat history. Greatness and winning are inextricably linked.

Huge game for the Magic. If they don't win this it's most likely all over for them.

Will be interesting to see what adjustments the Lakers will make and if they will revert to the team structured offense that has made them the best team in basketball. No doubt Kobe has taken a fair bit of heat for trying to do it all himself and I expect him to respond.

Magic will need to hope their 3s are dropping and they can continue to get good production from Dwight.

Hopefully Bynum will contribute in tonights game.

I must say starting this game at 9 Eastern is incredibly stupid.

Apparently the Lakers have decided not to defend Lee at all.

Every time that I watch a game Kobe is in that Mark Jackson is commentating... I want to vomit. We know he is a great player Mark, shut the hell up and talk about something besides Kobe.

Lee 1-3 on preposterously wide open 3s.
