Wise only uses the winning defense because that is the only thing that Kobe has over LeBron... Well, he has had much better teammates over the years as well, but we won't get into that again.
When all other things are apparently equal, winning in sports will always be the deciding factor. Go ahead and promote Lebron if you want, certainly your right. However, history will not treat him as kindly as Kobe and the rest of the game's legends unless he wins a title.
As far as the better teammates argument. It's as weak as its ever been. There are no excuses in sports. I'm pretty sure Magic and Bird had better supporting cast than Lebron too if I were to follow your argument. Would that fact also make Lebron a better player than those two? No. Magic and Bird are great because they sealed the deal. Same with Kobe, even moreso if he gets by the Magic. I don't think Bynum, Gasol and Odom compare to McHale, Parrish, and Dennis Johnson. I'd say Jabbar, Worthy, and Cooper were better than the Lakers current crop of others as well.
Suck it up guys. You can't cheat history. Greatness and winning are inextricably linked.
