It's the NBA Draft and The RealGM Pacers' Board 5th Annual Mock Draft Contest.
Image

What: 2009 NBA Draft
When: June 25, 2009, 7 p.m.-12 a.m. ET
Where: Madison Square Garden, N.Y.
Rounds: Two rounds

Here Are the Rules:

Only one entry allowed per participant

Each Participant Will Try to Predict the Course of the First Round. There are 30 picks.

You can edit your entry as many times as you want until the draft starts.

This thread will be locked by one of the moderators, shortly before 6 P.M. EST on June 25th. All entries must be submitted before then.

A player can only be used once in your first round predicition.

One point will be awarded for each player correctly placed in the first round.
Example: If you have the Pacers taking Eric Maynor, and he ends up being taken by the Kings at #23, then you will still earn one point because you correctly predicted him being taken in the first round regardless of not getting his exact position.

An additional one point will be earned if you correctly place a player at their exact draft position.
Example: If I predict the Clippers taking Blake Griffin at #1, and he indeed goes at this spot, then I earn 2 points. One for correctly placing him in the first round. One for correctly predicting his exact draft position. Easy enough, right?

Even if a team trades their pick, you will still be awarded two points if you correctly predict the player at his actual drafted position.
Example: For instance, if I predict the Pacers taking Brandon Jennings at #13, and they trade the pick to the Knicks who then take Brandon Jennings. I still get two points.

*BONUS*:
You will earn an additional 5 points (in addition to the 2), if you correctly predict who the Pacers take at #13. If the Pacers trade #13, but you guess the right player at the spot, you get the 2 points but not the 5 bonus points.

You will earn an additional 5 points if you correctly predict who the Pacers take at #52.

Here is the order and template you should use (Copy and paste it):
1 L.A. Clippers- Player name
2 Memphis
3 Oklahoma City
4 Sacramento
5 Minnesota
6 Minnesota
7 Golden State
8 New York
9 Toronto
10 Milwaukee
11 New Jersey
12 Charlotte
13 Indiana
14 Phoenix
15 Detroit
16 Chicago
17 Philadelphia
18 Minnesota
19 Atlanta
20 Utah
21 New Orleans
22 Portland
23 Sacramento
24 Dallas
25 Oklahoma City
26 Chicago
27 Memphis
28 Minnesota
29 L.A. Lakers
30 Cleveland

At #13, the Pacers will take: (fill in name)
At #52, the Pacers will take: (fill in name)

2005 Winner: PacersRule07
2006 Winner: PacersRule07
2007 Winner: PacerPerspective
2008 Winner: PacerPerspective
2009 Winner: ???? (This could be you)

Seeing as how it's been two years since my back to back titles, I'll have to tone down my normal smack-talk spiel. However, I'd like to point out that the mods still rule supreme! We aren't going to be taken down lightly, and I encourage you to bring your "A" game or don't bother coming around at all. To be the best, you gotta beat the best :king:

PR07, is there a date we have to have this in by? I think we should make it Tuesday night. There can be some stuff right before the draft the happens or even stuff where you KNOW which team is going to select which player, so there is a disadvantage to picking players now. I am going to wait as late as possible. In my opinion Tuesday night is the best, but this is your game, I am just trying to win it!

You can edit your post as many times as you want until this thread gets locked. In fact, you'd probably be smart too, as some things will change as Thursday approaches. However, I will lock the thread 2 hours or so before the draft. By making the deadline later, I encourage activity, as it will keep people on their heels and compel them to check their entries, which is both my job as a moderator, to encourage activity, and my intentions as the "host" of this game.

EDIT: I've decided to shorten the deadline to 6 PM EST the day of the draft

By Tuesday I meant Wednesday. I was thinking the draft was Wednesday for a second. But anyways, I was trying to get it later just because I will be out of town and I want to win. I will win, though, like I ALWAYS do in these games on this board.
